The service and the ambience is exceptional and you can just feel the history oozing out from inside and outside of the lodge. Chef Jimmy is an absolute whiz in the kitchen and it was a true honour to sample several of his masterpieces. I'd also like to praise the exceptional efforts the lovely Lucy took to make me and my octogenarian mother feel at home. She was a true star and we really appreciated her assistance during our meal and garden tour. It was a gorgeous excursion and an experience we will warmly cherish forever. “Where do I start to recommend this kennel. This is the best of the best - simply because the owner and her trusted staff truly KNOW animals. They are passionate, observant, and they are so committed to taking the best care of the pets entrusted into their care using a skill-set you rarely find. They also uncover all their personality traits, which proves how much notice they do take. I had two of my dogs in there this week and Robyn had noticed a touch of aggression from my Jack to my Kelpie, which I had noticed at the same time of day only once before. She was right on to it, and separated them without worrying me. But, she did tell me when I picked them up and I immediately remembered I'd noticed it too once myself, but I thought perhaps it was a one-off thing. So, now I'm going to be watching that narky little Jack closer at home. I can't stress how much trust we put in the people who care for our pets. Make sure you choose wisely, and if you're asking me, I'd say Dentese every day of the week. Thank you.”

“An amazing home base for exploring Napier! We stayed in the downstairs studio and loved it. Totally private from the rest of the house with a modern bathroom and cosy bedroom and sitting room. Set right next to the forested gully it’s a very peaceful place to stay. Very close to town and the Ahuriri side of the hill too. Highly recommend staying here as Kitty is a great host and the room is splendid”

Make sure you don't miss Marcus' 5 course dinner with wine pairing. It's unbelievable! The best dinner I've had in Hawkes Bay. The attention to detail was impeccable. The flavours were exquisite. The hospitality was next level. If you ever get a chance to stay with Marcus and Ellie..do it! It will not be regretted.”

“What a great find! This short-notice 2-bedroom accommodation was perfect for the concert, so no need to arrange transport as was a walk across the road. The welcome gift of wine, cheese, and crackers was such a thoughtful touch. We absolutely loved the stylish and comfortable villa in a beautiful area, and it was also very clean and tidy. The kitchen had everything we needed, even an air fryer. Having off-road parking for a couple of cars was so handy, and the location couldn't have been better for exploring Havelock North and the wineries.”

“We visited Bay Guesthouse with our good friends. The Captains House was perfect for 2 couples. The accommodation is superb with extremely well thought out extras and very high end amenities and furnishings. The place is simply stunning and was far beyond our expectations. The pictures do not so it justice. The views are magnificent. Armando and Marianne were wonderful hosts. Anticipating our every need. From appy’s on arrival to 2 amazing dinners on the terrace and yummy breakfasts— all was delicious With incredible attention to detail. We would love to have stayed longer. We will be back. I could not more highly recommend the Bay Guesthouse. We are discerning travellers and always book higher end accommodation. This is superb. You will not be disappointed.”
