Absolutely perfect. The apartment has everything you would need, and the view is spectacular of the ocean Watch surfers all day and seals on the beach from the window. The beach is amazing with really fun waves Steps from the front door. Super good pizza in the restaurant below. The apartment is very clean and Newly renovated. And the Town was a lot of fun
The Hydro Esplanade Apartment my 2 daughters and I stayed in, was warm, beautifully decorated with wonderful ocean views and great proximity for coffee, brunch and dinner restaurants. Katherine and her team provided excellent service and instructions for a safe and memorable stay. We would definitely stay there again. Arohanui
Had a lovely stay at the Hydro Esplanade Apartments - only wish it was longer. Very accomodating hosts and communication was excellent from the time of booking. Well equipped, clean, light and spacious accommodation with fantastic view of the sea. So many thoughtful extras including locally made milk, quality tea and coffee selection, cheese and crackers, beach towels and even a spare toothbrush! The shards of homemade soap and quality bathroom products were nice eco-friendly touches. Great location right on the sea front, within walking distance to the bus stop to town, and many good cafes and gift shops. Kicking back on the recliner sofa, with a cup of tea and watching/listening to the sea - bliss! Thank you for the great stay - will definitely return!
Fantastic apartment, everything you need in a home away from home. The view from the window is unbelievably awesome: the sand, the waves and the surfers. With a choice of 5 different teas and local farm milk in a real glass bottle, the hosts definitely look after you.
We had another absolutely fabulous stay at The Hydro. The apartment was immaculate and it was amazing to go up on the rooftop on a gorgeous Dunedin weekend . The communication with the host was impeccable. 100% we will be back.
We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment in July for 3 nights. The apartment was very warm with no noise from outside or the restaurant below. The view is absolutely stunning from every bedroom and the lounge area. I would highly recommend and we will be back again.
Fabulous 1bed unit right on beach at St Clair. Perfect spot to enjoy the local cafes, walk in either direction to explore the beaches and coastal walk. Fully equipped with thoughtful gestures like yummy cheese and crackers and full bottle of milk in the fridge!. Loads of towels, blankets, pillows etc.. it made you feel very welcome..definitely stay again
It is my fourth stay and I love it! Warm & comfie, everything you need, great hosts & sublime views . I love the top floor with the most picturesque clothes line location ever! As for the proximity to my fav beach .. it cannot be beaten. Great Italian restaurant below. What’s not to like? I wouldn’t stay anywhere else!
Wonderful spot for a quick family getaway. We came down for Six60’s Castle St Tour and wanted to stay somewhere out of the hustle and bustle of the main town/city centre area and this was a perfect location. Very relaxing and refreshing to be by the ocean and wake up to the beautiful sea views. Location has a nice upstairs area to sit and enjoy the views, perfect for a few drinks or a meal. Apartments are fully functional, lots of ammenities, full kitchen, lots of storage, ample amount of bedding and beds. Would suit anyone staying short term or long term. Great communication with hosts. Parking fairly good and lots of nearby places for food and activities.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hydro Esplanade Apartments. Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the Esplanade. It was spacious, clean and there were some really thoughtful inclusions. There was hardly any noise from the street and restaurant below (even though it was warm and there were lots of people about), instead, we could only hear the surf rolling in. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.
