“It is a botanical jungle within the city which has fauna & flora of most plants. Each one of them has been labelled & grouped in different category, making it a haven for botany students & easy to differentiate for the layman. Must visit while in Auckland.”
“The best place to see moon rise. The sky goes colour full”
“Great walk. Easy for my 7 year old to walk to the waterfall.”
“A great place to eat, work and meet! Friendly staff and homemade style food. Absolutely awesome”
“Beautiful area! Pristine environment and freshest air on Earth! Beautiful sites. New Zealand is so gorgeous!”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review: “This was our first visit to the Howick Historical Village, and it’s been on my bucket list for years since moving to New Zealand. Tonight’s Halloween festivity finally made it happen — and what a wonderful experience it was! The atmosphere, the creativity, and the family-friendly fun made it truly special. I’m definitely looking forward to coming back to enjoy all the other events and experiences the village has to offer.”
“I went to the Auckland Botanical Gardens first thing after exiting the airport on October 6. It was a good experience, very quiet early in the morning. It's entirely free and supports the local community. Some of the highlights would be the water features, the grouping of plants by ecosystem, and the main building, which hosts I spent around an hour there. That was a little short; I think the optimal amount of time is around two hours.”
“Well-maintain track with wide walkway. A little bit uphill but good for morning walk. We enjoy the voew of wellington city and also see the top of southern alps from the top of track. Make sure you bring enough water for walk! **thus track are join with red rock coastal walk, just walk down the hill approximately 5 km.”
“Good for those who loves walking, hiking. It was first time for me with friend. It was good. My suggestion to do Johnsonville to Karori.”
“Only 4WD vehicles can be driven on the rough road. It is not joke, seriously. We have seen 7 seals in different spots. They are very lazy and cute.”
“Big long finned eel by the lower bridge today. A nice sheltered picnic spot with toilets, a shelter, and bbqs for public use.”
“Well worth a visit. Lots of birds, great informative signage, beautiful bush. Good place to visit if you don't have time to do any bush walking - gives you a great taste of it! Also, the Cafe is excellent! Great coffee and really lovely food”
“Such lovely people I received my package personally delivered due to a family illness. Just a wonderful customers service gesture. Thank you meant alot .”
“Wonderful new cafe, lots of animals and variety of landscapes such as streams, waterfalls, hills. Well worth visiting though take care on the narrow road to Staglands.”
“Such a long trail and have to climb up the mountain to reach the upper lighthouse of pencarrow. Lots of awesome trails with views of the beach, mountains and green landscape. Biking is the most recommended option so as to cover a lot of stuff around and enjoy all the views from the top.”
“Stunning viewpoint with easy tracks, fresh air, and wide landscapes. Great for quick hikes, sunsets, and peaceful weekend escapes.”
“Beautiful place to go for a walk. Not a simpe walk but the views are all worth it.”
“Has a shallow pool perfect for toddlers and little ones, has a decent park and a flying fox, also has an old school metal rocking horse in working condition :)”
“Enjoyed taking my nephew for a walk along the beach and watching him play around in the sand”
“Very nice walk and nice that disc golf is there as well.”
“Willowbank Wildlife Reserve is absolutely amazing, a perfect mix of native, farm, and exotic animals. The kiwi enclosure was the highlight for me, peaceful, natural, and the closest I’ve ever been to seeing a kiwi up close! The staff are super friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly care deeply about conservation. The grounds are clean and easy to walk through, with beautiful native bush and photo spots everywhere. Feeding the eels and lemurs was such a fun surprise. Great for all ages, and only a short drive from the city or airport. Definitely one of Christchurch’s must-visit attractions!”
“Great experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend at all. This is the place to go!!! Many thanks!!!”
“Obviously very beautiful place. Only experienced surfers can surf here. Really cool to watch surfers shredding the waves”
“Our local park, got everything you need for a park. Simple and fun, plenty parking spots.”
“Did this on a bike without knowing how nice it was gonna be. Some hills are a bit rough if you haven't hopped on a bike in a decade and the kids pissed you off so much you hired a bike and went for a ride to only realise, you're the problem and go back home with a feed to make up for being impatient. But yeah cool track”
“We did 6h and 15km hike with in total almost 1km up, starting Lowlevel loop track up to Waipapa Track all the wau upto Pukekohatu and then on the top along Old North-South route and down with Pylon Peak Track. This route only for very fit and experienced. Beautiful small tracks through many different Flora and Fauna. Marked routes but at times hard to found.”
“Great two hour stop. We did the windows walk. This included approximately 100 man made steps. Dark and wet mining tunnels ( bring a light and waterproof shoes). Part of the lower track is closed, so to make it a loop take the Battery track back. We didn't and got to do the 100 steps all over again! Two suspension bridges to cross to get there. One has a lot of bounce! Easy parking with a toilet. Probably a 3 out of 10 on strenuous ( only because of the stairs). Not handicap friendly. Bad knees; beware.”
“Such a unique place at the heart of Hamilton! I initially thought this would like any other botanical gardens but I was wrong. The concept of having different themed gardens (Japanese, Italian, Chinese, Indian) was quite refreshing to see and that made the whole experience unique and engaging throughout the visit. Highly recommend if you’re looking to take professional photos as the garden has a lot of color and diverse options.”
“A great day out! Our Track & Trail Cycle Adventures group of 9 riders stopped at Rhubarb Cafe, crossed the swing bridge at Arapuni and passed three hydro stations on our ride from Pokaiwhenua stream to Mangakino.”
“Very well maintained with a good variety of flowers. Built for the aristocracy to escape the harsh environment.”
