Absolutely loved this place! A cozy, family-run Japanese restaurant with amazing food and a welcoming atmosphere. The food was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The staff were kind and attentive, making us feel right at home. Perfect spot for anyone who appreciates Japanese cuisine and warm hospitality!
Lovely place with awesome food. Pork ramen was one of the best I had here in Christchurch, kids ramen was well. overall I had a really great time here, I just wish I lived closer.
Authentic Japanese Flavours in Hornby! This Japanese-run spot in Hornby delivers on authenticity. The tonkotsu ramen featured perfectly cooked noodles and a rich, well-balanced broth. The chicken karaage curry stood out with its sweet onion notes and deep curry flavour, though the karaage itself was a bit less impactful. Still, great value and excellent service make this a place worth visiting.
The dish that I received goes into the top 3 of my most ridiculous food experiences in a restaurant for sure. I ordered a beef curry rice, and I had received a giant plate of rice and curry, but there were 2 tiny pieces of beef on the plate. It looked absolutely ridiculous. Not sure if this was a mistake by the restaurant or not, but after 2 bites of beef, I literally only had curry sauce and rice left to eat. Truly a shame, because the ramen of my wife was delicious and the karage was as well. The staff was very friendly too and the place looks awesome. Unfortunate about my food experience.
Got the pork bone ramen, great flavor, not salty, nice oil layer on too, seasoned perfectly. Noodles had a nice texture. Egg was near perfect Also tried the pork on rice, very delicious, great portion, juicy sweet pork. The shop it's very interesting, like a flying saucer. Very Interesting
My wife and I have eaten here thrice and the experience has never been disappointing. The pork bone ramen tastes almost like the ramen I had when I was still in Asia. We'd definitely come back here especially when the nights dip below zero.
One of the waiters who has curly hair guy is rude and arrogant. Zero communication, bad experience.
Simply the best ramen I have ever had. Both the Shoyu and Tonkatsu ramens are amazing. I would come here every week for a bowl if I could. Only small complaint was that the vegetarian miso ramen didn’t match the quality of the meat ramens.
Very friendly service. Authentic Japanese menu. Sapporo beer on tap along with a host of family style Japanese dishes. Food was well portioned and tasty.
Quick service. Sat down, ordered and served within about 15mins. Probably had been there less than 30mins total. Was about half full at 530, so make a reservation or come at opening time. Less than 20 seats available until its fully booked. You can't sit at reserved seats, so even though the place looks half empty, it's got people coming eventually. I had the pork bone ramen, the pork would basically fall away in my mouth. Cooked well. The ramen noodles are thinner than regular 2 minutes, sadly. Takoyaki balls were nice, typical.
