Beautiful view although we nearly got blown away

We visited for sunset which didn’t disappoint, it would have been nice to relax and enjoy it but the wind was so wild and cold it wasn’t possible. Definitely a must stop when visiting Dunedin but be sure to dress to keep warm. The road up is narrow and lots of residents in the area park in the street so be aware of this.

Great place check out the city. Also found a teenage blackbird bath in a dirty water hole. Brave bird wasn’t afraid of me at all but it didn’t know bathing in dirty water won’t get itself clean

Amazing views especially when the sky is clear. Came here during sunset and it was beautiful, seeing the sky change into different hues as the sun set. Overall splendid! I do feel it will be better if you came here during sunrise as the hill is east facing. Just to take note, Narrow drive up to the lookout

This lookout point provides an amazing panoramic view of the Dunedin city. There is also an interesting memorial at this place with some sculptures depicting the local culture. Given the height this place gets a little windy and chilly. A binoculars would provide a good view. The views are stunning both during the day as well as at night time. It’s quite a steep drive up here and the road is extremely narrow and with a high gradient, hence ample care needs to be taken while driving to and from this place. Also cyclists come up to this point and ride back, and a keen eye needs to be kept out for them. There is no marked parking, so follow the cue of other parked cars. There are no restrooms at this place nor any shop/vending machines here.

Before you come here, wear some heavy clothes. Because the view is breathtaking and you can't but just stand there mesmerized. The light house on top is a call out for everyone. But the lookout point is simply great. Ample parking spots, including bus parking too. The cafe near is warm, cozy and good calue. You shluld come prepared to get amazed by the view. Come on a sunny day if you can. Windy days are rather a struggle. But otherwise, my word!!! Remember an albatross can be almost of your size. And they are the largest flying birds. Record is wing to wing, 12 feet !! Till date.

Great point. Though the trees and schrubs get in the way to what i presume once a lookout over the whole dunedin was. Nice statues.

Went on a cloudy day but still great views. The road up is really narrow so watch out for cars coming in the opposite direction. The carpark at the top probably can hold about 6 to 8 cars/vans, but turnaround is quick so you won’t have issues finding a lot unless all the families are having long picnics up there. It’s windy so wear something warm.

Another beautiful lookout point in New Zealand! Signal hill lookout located in the city of Dunedin is a free lookout point with a stunning view. The lookouts point is just a short drive from the city center and also a great place for photo opportunities. The place is breezy and a perfect spot to relax and take a break from the long drives. Highly recommended to everyone!
