“As a customer who has dined at this Korean-Chinese restaurant more than 20 times, I can confidently say it’s a great choice when you’re unsure what to eat. My top recommendation is the “Number Nine”Spicy Seafood Noodles(Samseon Jjamppong). It’s mildly spicy, nutritious, and packed with a variety of fresh seafood like scallops, oysters, squid, and prawns, along with veggies such as carrots, greens, onions, and zucchini. The seafood soup is delicious with a slight garlic taste. The Stir-fried Glass Noodles and Veggies(Japchae) are another favorite. They’re delicious and the texture of glass noodles is silky, though they can be a bit oily for me. Lastly, the Veggie & seafood salad, green bean starch, mustard sauce on side(Yangjangpi) is colorful and appetizing, with a great combination of fresh vegetables and stir-fried meat, perfectly complemented by a mustard sauce that enhances the overall taste. The only drawback is that it gets very busy on weekends, so you might not find a seat and could end up waiting over 30 minutes for a bowl of noodles during peak times. The restaurant is conveniently located across from a Woolworths and a parking lot, so parking isn’t an issue. For public transport, Bus 25 is a convenient option.”

“I'm rather happy with the meal. *Butter chicken, it was the best I've had in Orewa so far. *Chilli Chicken was a standout for me the flavour was bang on. *Garlic Prawns were fantastic I just wished there was more..I'll definitely order those again. So overall my experience is a huge positive.”

“If you’re after great, authentic and flavourful Indian food, then this is the place. While the ambience and service are nothing to rave about, the food beats it all! Absolutely loved the fish Amritsari, which interestingly and sadly is a rare find in Auckland. The lamb seekh kebab and biryani are fab too. Sure will be back”

“I was craving for Thali and this restaurant popped up on google. $18+ for 2 curry thali as per photo with veg and non veg. Great food for its price would come back again. Would appreciate if it was an Indian Sweet as per description, got given a vanilla ice cream for dessert and much better if it was an Indian Sweet like Gulab Jamun. Chana Masala needs more working”

“Had dinner at Portofino Takapuna, an authentic Italian restaurant by the beach. I ordered the Prosciutto Pizza and Seafood Risotto—both were absolutely amazing. The pizza was perfectly baked with a thin, crispy base and generous toppings, while the risotto was rich, creamy, and full of fresh seafood flavours. A truly delightful dining experience that captures the taste of Italy right here in Takapuna. Highly recommended!”

“We had a wonderful meal there last night. The views were fantastic, all the wait staff and the hostess were lovely and very helpful. We had someone who was GF and she was well looked after. Everything was made fresh and we couldn’t fault it. The massaman lamb was delicious and the money bags were the best we have eaten. The prices were reasonable too. Will definitely be back!! “Ive been here a few times and each brings me back! I love a good Larb Salad, and theirs is very good!!! But the star today was the Chiang Mai noodles. OMG it was amazing. Khao Soi is the actual name for this particular curry, but it comes from northern Thailand, and reminded me of my visit to Chiang Mai, hence the name! I must have this again!!!! “*Updated 26/10/25: Food quality has improved, but not the prices. $5.80 for a long black is getting a bit cheeky. *Updated 2/11/23: Pretty good. *Updated 17/4/22: Food and coffee are still awesome, however becoming expensive for what you get in comparison to other cafés. The menu can be misleading and didn't have prices for eggs on toast etc. (Photo provided). Great little cafe, music good, staff friendly and efficient. Coffee was very good and cosy atmosphere. Only complaint is the rickety seating and tables.”
