“This is now a new fish and chips shop that also sells fresh whole fish. The takeaways is fantastic. We had battered gurnard and chips. Huge portion sizes on the chips so we ended up buying far too many compared to what other shops provide. Fresh Blue Nose on ice too.”

“Kia ora. I went to Awa Ink through the recommendation of a friend and work colleague. I was born in Melbourne, Australia, and have lived full time in New Zealand since 1997. I have a number of old skool type tattoos which I had done during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The only tattoo that meant anything to me is my daughter's name on a ribbon and love heart type design. I really wanted something new that tells my story and truly means something to me. Tawhiri absolutely exceeded my expectations with a beautiful Tā moko telling my story along with my daughter's name and the name of my mokopuna. I requested the Southern Cross be included as I was born under this constellation and is featured on the Australian flag where I was born and the New Zealand flag where I have lived for close to 30 years. I also have a connection to Samoa through a very close friend which also features the Southern Cross on its flag. My overall experience with Tawhiri at Awa Ink absolutely exceeded my expectations. “Note. This was accommodation on a business trip, but i so regretted that my wife was not here i selected 'Couples". An absolute slice of luxury just on the outer edge of Taradale. Font vome here alone - you will be introuble with your partner. With three well appointed bedrooms each wth ensuite would well suite a group of couples or a family. Great tech and fast wifi also. I connected to the bluetooth entertainment centre and enjoyed my own tunes immensely. The spa was A+++”
