    In March, 2019 my wife Melanie and I stayed at the McHardy Lodge for two nights. The place is very charming and warm and Yvonne, the owner, made us feel like family during our stay. The breakfast, we ordered, was cooked to perfection and the fruits and muffins were delicious. At 6PM each day we had refreshments with Yvonne and got a chance to better know her. Our room was tastefully decorated and would recommend this lodge to anyone who visits Napier.

    My wife and I, Canadians visiting New Zealand for the first time, stayed at McHardy Lodge on 2014-02-02. We have stayed at many B&Bs, but would rate McHardy Lodge as a definite 15+ out of 10! Beautiful restored home, with gorgeous guest rooms, plus very nice billiard room, sitting room, outside deck and pool. House has interesting history, and proprietor, Yvonne, is knowledgeable about the house and its history. She also is a friendly, gracious host, who made us a scrumptious breakfast. She suggested the 'Guided Walking Tour' of downtown Napier (was re-built in the early 1930s in 'Art Deco' style), which we enjoyed immensely. Our only regret was that we were able to stay only 1 night. We highly recommend a visit to Napier, and if you do, definitely consider staying at McHardy Lodge!

    We visited McHardy Lodge in Easter 2013 for a mini-break. Absolutely worth every cent paid for the accommodation. Fantastic hostess, warm and welcoming, brilliant central location and well appointed rooms, with faultless service. Yvonne made us feel at home from day one. On arrival at 7pm our Yvonne asked what our plans for dinner were and presented us with a list of options then arranged the booking. Yvonne has great local knowledge and can always advise on places to visit and how to make the most of your stay. The quality of service never dropped throughout the stay. We thoroughly recommend McHardy Lodge as a place to stay over. So in short Yvonne makes sure that your experience reflects the luxury accommodation provided.
