“The atmosphere and customer service at this place was amazing. We sat outside and it was steady in terms of customers. A friend and I attended for afternoon cocktails and dinner and the food was absolutely sensational. We ordered the olives, the bread with burrata, the lamb and the beef and honestly the amount of food for the quality and taste of the food was unmatched. “We were a group of 3, we ordered bbq ribs with wedges salad, grilled fish with roast potatoes salad, lamb shanks with mash and Veges for our mains. Amazing dishes, good portions. The service was attentive. Our entree jalapeño poppers were the best we've had. This is my 2nd time at this restaurant. We all left very happy with our meals! Will definitely be back again.”

“I love this place! I've been there many times this year, and I even had my daughter’s 5th birthday party there. The staff is always friendly, and the food is amazing. Parents can enjoy a peaceful coffee while overlooking the playground, watching the kids play.”

“Very welcoming and friendly customer service. It wasn’t too busy when we arrived. Our food came out quick, it was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our food. My favourite was the kumara wedges I really enjoyed that as well as my chicken apricot burger. The lovely waitress who served us from the moment we walked in was super sweet and lovely! I had an issue with my drink and she took it away and fixed it right away still smiling. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating available, it’s a lovely setup. Next time we’ll try the ribs as it looked so good when the waiter walked past with them to the other table.”

“We love coming here and having the bao buns and burgers. We usually the pork and the chicken bao buns, and the South Westerner (fried chicken) burger which are always so good! The chips are always seasoned well, and the service is awesome. Don't be fooled by the pic, the angle makes the burger look small but trust me it's not. 10/10”

“100% recordable, I went for meat and vegetables, when tasting the dish, the meat was perfectly crispy and cooked. And let's not forget Argentinian fernet, a marvel.”

“If I could give more than 5 stars I would! A few years ago I was pregnant,tired and incredibly hungry and all the restaurants were actually closing their doors, including vino. My poor husband ran up just as you were closing the doors and asked if you had anything spare he could buy for me quickly. Without hesitation you actually turned your ovens back on,chatted to my husband about life,and made me a double portion of pasta FREE of charge and said it was a gift for us and our first baby. I genuinely cried at how generous you were to a total stranger. Don’t know if you remember this at all,but it’s always stuck with us! Highly recommend to anyone and everyone.”

“We had brunch on Waitangi Day (Thursday) and absolutely loved it. For the first time, I had a smoothie that was actually better than the ones I make at home—so thank you for that! We went back on Saturday, but this time, the smoothie had noticeably more spinach, which caused it to oxidize quicker. I don’t have a picture, so you’ll have to take my word for it—it was much darker in color and less sweet. That said, the breakfast quality was just as great as the first time.”

“The Collins is a local fave on the Shore!! Their food is always delicious, coffee is brewed to perfection, and the customer service is always friendly and fast. I definitely recommend coming here for coffee and/or brunch, plenty of seating options both indoor and outdoor too.”
