A busy little cafe in the heart of Howick. Delicious breakfast! Absolutely recommended. Friendly helpful staff, good prices.
UPDATE: I REALISED I PUT THE WRONG CAFE NAME IN. THIS REVIEW IS FOR HOMESTEAD CAFE, AR HOWICK HISTORICAL VILLAGE Stunning, delicious food, reasonable pricing and such a gorgeous setting! Having the (small) marble run and skate park / pump track right next door was an absolute win!
The food was super tasty, fresh and vibrant. The service was quick, fast, easy. And the atmosphere was nice, cozy, and warm. Overall a lovely experience and a must try!☺️
My first time and everything was amazing. Friendly staff, and delicious food. The egg bene with salmon on hash cakes was good. Great coffee too.
I ate here twice. The first time, I had beef nachos. It was 12 noon, and they had run out of sour cream. They came to my table to tell me, and we agreed to sub it for guacamole. It turned out very nice. The following morning, I returned and ordered bacon and scrambled eggs. I'm sorry but I did not like it. The bacon was murdered! The rashes were extremely dry and impossible to cut with the knife. The scrambled eggs were overcooked and rubbery. I didn't finish it. Almost uneatable. I definitely wouldn't order them again. Coffee is good enough but not memorable. Thank goodness the nachos were ok to help me give a half decent review.
Vegan breakfast was unique and tasty, coffee was made with Allpress beans and they all tasted great (flat white with oat milk, latte, americano, latte with soy milk). Lots of savoury and sweet cabinet food options alongside the menu which was good.
I ordered the fish tacos and for $24, it was a rip off. One tiny piece of fish, barely any corn or dressing and just a massive amount of coleslaw. The fish was tasty but there was barely any there. I've heard good things about HVC so this was very disappointing.
Lovely place! Really awesome staff and the food/drinks are well presented and taste amazing! Price is reasonable as well.
Met friends here for brunch. We all enjoyed our meals, lovely to sit outside in the sun/shade (they had outdoor umbrellas). Busy place, best to book!
Delicious dinner, staff are friendly and attentive. Super nice atmosphere. Can totally recommend it and will definitely come back again.
