“Today, we stopped by Mitre 10 Takanini and were pleased to find Columbus Coffee inside. They offer a great selection of cabinet food and menu items, but sometimes, it's just about enjoying a delicious drink. Given the warm weather, I opted for a Belgian Iced Chocolate — it was refreshing and exactly what I needed on a hot, humid day. We also had a double-shot flat white, which was smooth and satisfying. The café has plenty of seating, both indoors and in the Mitre 10 Garden Centre, which offers a lovely outdoor setup. For families, there's a little playground and even some colouring activities to keep the kids entertained. The service was friendly, efficient, and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Overall, Columbus Coffee in Takanini is a clean, inviting spot with great drinks, food, and service — definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!”

“Great pit stop on the side of the Motorway! Amazing food and drinks. Lovely outside/courtyard type seating area. The breakfast food options were delicious (the omelette in particular 10/10) and a sweet little mimosa to wake the girls up. Recommend!”

“Kareoki nights are the bomb. Tammy the Kareoki DJ on Tuesday night and Dave Hoeta on Thursday and Saturday nights from 9pm. A must visit if you're a singer or waiata artist.....chuuur!!! Fun place to visit.”

Both dinner and brunch menu is excellent, super friendly service and very kids friendly (my daughter love their kids combo). I'm sure we will continue visit here more. “Place of good food with nice environment and one side lake. There are hips of car parking. There entrance are very wheelchair and strollers friendly. They have lots of entrance and entry options. This is the great place for buffet or party or conference with staying in there hotels. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. They just cleaned the tables within seconds. You don’t worry about used plates. All staffs are very responsive. They will give you super first for your services.”

“Heard so much about the Steak & Guinness Pie that we had to try it out. Hubby had the large one, me the small. Both did not disappoint and both were ample servings. Flakey puff pastry sealed over the top of a bowl of steaming hot steak filling, served with crispy beer battered chips and a green salad. Tasty and very well-priced. Great pub, awesome staff.”

“We booked a table via First Table, so was able to get a good deal for a table of 4. We ordered the Pan-Roasted Lamb Rump and Butcher's Cut Steak. The food came out quickly and it was very tasty. Basalt is nicely layed out, with one corner for dining, another area where you can watch live sport and have drinks. As well as an upstairs area with music”

“I love garden centres, especially those with a café. Its a large, well stocked centre and the café serves a good coffee. As a bonus...all the people were nice too. In the café their eggs and salmon of rosti stack and salmon are excellent choices, they did not skimp on the salmon. Go and enjoy.”
