   Below is an update on my previous review now I have amended my review as it feels things have gotten even worse so I have changed my previous review from 3 stars to 1. After a long break from coming here due to issues such as the RSA being closed when it should be open, poor communication and unpredictability of beer and food availability me and my friend decided to come in to collect our cards and see if things had improved and see if itwould be worth renewing our membership. Unfortunately when I arrived a rude (possibly slightly inebriated) lady called Margarette refused me and my friend entry because we were wearing shirts with no collar, she said she was the secretary and makes the rules. I have come on numerous occasions in similar attire and both me and my friend's have never been told of this, I recall numerous others wearing similar attire, even their photos on Facebook show people who won raffles collecting their prizes in far less formal T-shirts than we were wearing. There is no sign at the RSA or rules on the website stating any issue with this type of attire. Our t-shirts were clean and of nice dress and have never been an issue at other restaurants or even at Sky City. What's the point of being a member if when they do decide to actually open they won't even let their members in. After this experience I am seriously reconsidering continuing my membership after this experience.

   It was a while back, but cannot forget the hospitality both the bar staff and the veterans there gave us outsiders. The layout is also nice and big, with dart boards and pool tables I think I remember. Tables had really cool fishing and other gear inlaid under the resin coating. Get your Lion Reds here haha.

   I've come here recently a few times for the weekly pub quiz. I had been there once a while back and am impressed with the difference that time has made. The food menu is better and more varied and they seem to be adding more things regularly. The staff is extremely welcoming to everyone. There are some colourful characters who always seem to be there though. They are dealt with in a good manner but be aware you may need any open mind. A nice place otherwise.

   A great venue for a casual get-together or party with decent prices on drinks and food. Good size portions so no one goes hungry. Kids eat free on Sundays!! Parking is around the back.
