Saw the good reviews on me Wally phone here and thought to meself oh yeah I’ll get me a jug of lion red. I normally go in bloody ponsonby ways for a good session but onehunga was a calling. Had a whole swappacrate to meself and a punt on the pony’s, didn’t win mind. Was too drunk to drive home so I slept in me car at the countdown carpark
Was hesitant due to the outside but my goodness what a gem. Hidden in onehunga a real classic nz bar. Felt at home immediately and loved the free pool tables. Smoking area was popular
Real tip top stuff at The Tav! DB Draught and Rheineck on tap! Fisherman's basket! Pokies and a claw machine, brilliant atmosphere. Real welcoming bar staff and good pours, not sloppy ones like at the bramble, they don't know good beers if they fell in a bucket of it.
Handy for a post work catch-up, easy parking and cheap beer.
Popped in for a few pints. Great value and free pool tables.

Management and bar staff were friendly, great atmosphere all round, the music was fantastic. Thank you so much. I had an awesome time, drinking, singing, and dancing.
Not flash or anything, but if you can handle afew rough eezs, handles always cold sit outside in garden bar read your paper or book n relax.. Countdown next door n a meat shop.. Be brave try something new, long time ago it was a pumping pub
Good pub for some beers and chat. Free pool table and free music on the jukebox. Toilets are clean and tidy, the staff friendly and are good at clearing away empties and keeping the place tidy. Got a pretty decent claw machine too just your $2’s...
