“Jervois Rd Wine Bar + Kitchen delivered an exceptional dining experience that exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, everything was flawless. We started with the lemon pepper calamari, which was perfectly tender and seasoned to perfection. The truffle fries were indulgent and had just the right amount of truffle aroma, making them impossible to resist. The wagyu beef sliders were a highlight – juicy, flavorful, and served with a delightful balance of textures. The mains were equally impressive. The wagyu brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender and packed with bold, rich flavors. The lamb cutlets were cooked to perfection, beautifully tender with a touch of smokiness. The goat cheese croquettes were a creamy, crispy delight that added a perfect complement to the meal. To top it all off, the pomegranate sour was a fantastic choice – expertly mixed, refreshing, and a great pairing for the food. Every dish was presented beautifully, and the flavors were nothing short of incredible. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere of the bar was cozy and inviting. Jervois Rd Wine Bar + Kitchen is a true gem, and we can’t wait to return for another memorable dining experience! 5/5 stars. Highly recommend!”

“Visited The Roll yesterday and tried Bun Cha, Stir fried Beef PHO, Broken Rice with Pork Ribs and Vietnamese Pancake. The food was fresh and full of flavour. I was especially impressed with Bun Cha, the meatballs was so tender and smoky, perfectly with the dipping sauce. The Broken Rice was fantastic too. We were all really happy with the meal. The staff and service were wonderful. Definitely recommend checking it out!”

“What a delight it was to eat at Morrell! The food was some of the best I’ve had in Auckland since moving here 3 years ago. Service was great and of course booking through First Table was seemless. Only thing I’d say that could’ve been better was the option to split the bill as there were 4 of us. But aside, top class experience! Thank you Morell team.”

“My daughter and I had a wonderful lunch, little miss 5.5 was not only all smiles but very well looked after including sneaky chocolate delivery from the lovely Emilie who expertly serviced our needs. Attentive, friendly and anticipating our every need, this girl needs a bar tab from the owners or at the very least a juicy slab of meat loaded with truffle butter!! “We visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon and the vibe was great. A live band was playing good tunes, not so loud that you couldn't enjoy a good yarn with your mates, and the staff were courteous and friendly. We arrived when it was very busy so the wait time for a cooked meal from the menu was an hour so keep that in mind if visiting when busy. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here and look forward to stopping in again over summer.”

“I can't believe I haven't been here before as I live just down the road. Last time I was in here it was still Conch Records... Ate there for the first time with a friend who works in hospo and we were both super impressed with the tacos. Good craft beer, lots of options and (for Ponsonby) not too devastatingly expensive. Will definitely be back.”

“We dined at Soul Bar for dinner. Our server Liz was very lovely and attentive, she made us very comfortable and answered our questions gracefully regarding the menu. All the dishes were well presented, fresh and flavorful. Good mocktail selection to, which was a nice surprise. It was a weekend evening so it was fairly loud but great, lively atmosphere for an inner city restaurant. Bathrooms were clean and tidy, rest of the staff were friendly too.”

“My wife and I celebrated our 25th (Silver) Wedding Anniversary with a meal here. The food, service, and atmosphere were great. The view out over the Waitākere Ranges was beautiful, despite the overcast evening. It was unfortunate that we were unable to have our preferred and reserved outdoor seating, due to the verandah being inaccessible for wheelchairs.”

“We had such a beautiful meal here for two, restaurant is very authentic and service was great. The vegetarian lasagna was amazing and best I have had in Auckland also my husband had the meat lovers pizza which was very good! We finished off with the baklava for dessert which was lovely. I would definitely recommend.”

“If I was just rating the Indian food, it would get 6 stars (I haven't had the non-Indian food yet, but there is a good selection). I recently moved here from the UK, and generally speaking curries in New Zealand are not as good as the UK, and my test dish - chicken Dansak is either usually not available or not good, but at Mainsail it was brilliant...best curry I have had since coming to NZ, hands down (and better than many I've had in the UK). My wife who is not a big curry eater, enjoyed her Tikka Massalla as well - they get the heat exactly as you request. There was a good choice of non Indian food as well, which we didn't sample. In terms of atmosphere, the interior of the restaurant where we have eaten both times, needs refreshing. The views are good, and with a bit of attention, it could be a great space. The main bar seemed OK, very much a bar, and the outdoor patio looked like a great place to sit when the weather is good, which it wasn't when we went. This is overall a good place, and will be somewhere we come regularly due to the location and the excellent curry. I doubt I will ever sample their non-Indian, which looks fines, because the Indian so darned good!”

“Picked up a Cashew Chicken Noodle, a Sweet and Sour chicken with rice, a yellow curry with rice and some Spring Rolls for my family up from Dunedin today at WoknNoodle Mt Eden. They absolutely loved it. It fed 5 of us for lunch! Thanks Lee, your food always hits the spot!”

“Wow, the "Steak Night" was fantastic. Normally my wife does not allow me to order steak, as 99 times out of 100, the chef does not know how to cook it, or it has not been aged, or the thickness is inconsistent I.e thick at one end and thin at the other. And I complain about it. However, I was pleasantly surprised as the friends I went with talked the restaurant up. We got there around 7 pm, and the place was buzzing, a really good atmosphere with locals obviously supporting this restaurant. The steak was spot on, asked for medium rare, and received a good sized portion of a very tender medium rare scotch fillet with mushroom sauce. Fries and a fresh garden salad finished of a simple but great meal. Yes, i took the time to go and thank the team in the kitchen for a great meal. My friends tell me Taco Night is also well worth going to, so I reckon my wife and I will have to make the journey North from Hamilton to do just that. 100% recommend this restaurant. Oh, one of our friends is celiac, and they were able to cater for her with GF fries and GF Salt and Pepper squid.”
