Great history, great food options- got the vegetarian sausage roll and it was unreal. The red Italian leather seats were super spacious and comfortable. The back row offers a love couch style so couples can sit together.
Beautiful theatre marred by ridiculously overpriced and mediocre food. The spicy hot dog was a small budget wiener in a tasteless white bun with hot sauce. That's it, no other fillings. For $11. The popcorn was half the size you get at other theatres for the same price, and dry and slightly stale. That and a small bottle of Coke was $14. If you're proud of this and think it is fairly priced, then nothing I say can reach you. (The cabinet food looked good, but that's not what I ordered. My mistake?)
Fantastic restored art deco style cinema with screenings of both retro films and new releases. Special screening of The Room with actor guest and spoon throwing. Jaws 50th anniversary screening for $15 ($45 with themed dessert and cocktail). Waterfall curtain in the main cinema. Large Thunderbirds TV series models on display upstairs. Original movie poster decor. Great atmosphere and choice of movies.
Always a great experience. It makes me feel like Iām back in a 90ās movie theatre.
Amazing old cinema with a relaxing place to eat and drink. These older cinemas are the best. A must go to location if in wellington. Great staff and great service with amazing choice in food
When in Wellington this is an absolute must for many reasons. Not just because it is owned by an Oscar winner who helped produce Lord of the Rings but because of the absolute eclectic vibe from this amazing place
This is a stunning cinema. Art Deco frontage and superb interior. It takes cinema seriously.
Wonderful and stylish cinema, great ambience from the moment you step inside, from the cashier, cafe and bar upstairs to the actual cinema itself. Just outstanding. Would have to be one of the very best theatres I've ever been to.
I was out wheeling, down to see the Harbour and a notice on Roxy notices caught my eye. It advertises and supports local events, have awesome atmosphere about it, art deco in design, or correct me if not quite right word. The hub of Miramar with a Cafe,bar,movies,lounge chairs, or areas to sit,eat,drink (non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages )coffee,tea etc is served with fine food/Cafe style snacks. Movies to go too or just hang out with your friends or by yourself, cause you will never feel alone. Most are very friendly.
