“I popped in here to see what styles they had that might fit a women's size 18. They had at least six to choose from that was suitable for day wear. They had really nice lace dresses too but I wasn't looking for lace. The salesperson was fabulous. I got on really well with her and she listened to what style of dress I was looking for. She knew her stock and she knew what it would look like on - a couple of the dresses looked like sacks when hanging on the rack but looked wonderful on. Wish I could have afforded two dresses as I found it was hard to make a decision! Sadly I returned my dress today after nearly two months and wearing it around 10 or so times. With only three washes gentle washes the fabric pilled & it looked old real quick. The lady was really nice and apologized. I was sad too as it was not up to the standard of quality I have come to expect from Annah over the 13yrs that I've been buying from her. It is being sent to head office for inspection and I will hear in due course whether I get my money back or a credit or the dress back.”
“A good place for beers after work, good selection of beers thar are regularly updated. Expect it to be busy if its straight after work, with it being quieter a couple of hours after. Don't forget to sample the beers if you aren't sure whether you like it, staff are helpful and knowledgeable”
“Just wanted to take the time to say a massive thank you to Aj that cut my hair a few weeks back. Was nice and quick in, my buzz cut was slickkkk and I felt so much better after my cut. Thank you for taking care of me and for understanding my situation, you are appreciated. Will be back with my boy and his mop of hair next.”
“Super delicious sweets, the lemon cheese cake is awesome like everything. The taste is incredible, coffee has a great strong taste. I love the shop. Staff is very friendly”
“Great true gentleman barber. Takes time and care in the cut. Plus you won’t get charged upwards of $100 like in these other “modern” barbers that are springing up everywhere. Value for money with traditional charm. If you have time, get a shave. It’s an experience, relaxation and meditation in itself”
“had lunch in the cafe there served by wonderful staff & also helpful friendly staff in the bookstore - great range of books in all areas”
“We had an amazing time at the fill-a-bag event! Such a great way to keep stock moving-hope you do them more!”
“Busy but well organised store in Queensgate Mall. Plenty of Christmas or all year round gifts for all ages. Great book selection and gift vouchers available. Lotto available here too.”
“I had the pleasure of receiving a haircut and colour treatment from Arti, and I was thoroughly impressed by her professionalism and expertise. From the moment I arrived, she was welcoming and attentive, creating a comfortable and positive environment. Arti provided thoughtful recommendations on both hair colour and products tailored to my needs, and her efficiency did not compromise the quality of her work. The haircut she gave me was exceptional—well-suited to my features and easy to maintain. I received numerous compliments at work, which is a testament to her skill. I highly recommend Arti to anyone seeking high-quality, professional hair services.”
“My family and I just spent 3 nights here and had a lovely stay. The rooms are excellent and the staff at the dinning room are very thoughtful and caring. A special thanks to Inder who helped my wife and I set up dinning for two young children every morning. I would definitely stay here again.”
“We had breakfast for four of us on Sunday morning, service was friendly and efficient. Meals were delicious and coffee was fantastic. A cool setting and displays were very funky. Will be back next time we visit Wellington.”
“Good service needs recognition and appreciation. From Annabel I had a superb experience today in choosing both a card and paper for my daughter's graduation. I value perspectives from those around the same age when chosing gifts form my children. When selecting a card, Annabel was confident, and clear about the direction I should take, explaining the various persctives of different selections. Thanks to Annabel's perspective and help, I made the best, the right card choice on this important occassion. If I'd gone the way I had originally thought, I see, thanks to Annabel, how it would have been an emabrrasing mistake. So again, thanks for being of great service Annabel. Very much appreciated.”
“Went there to just have a look. Was served by Genesis and she was amazing. I didn’t feel like a customer at all, felt like I knew her for ages. She helped me pick out shoes and it sounded like she knew what she was talking about. Best customer service I’ve had in a long time! 12/10 would definitely shop there again”
“Always helpful, friendly and can suggest what your looking.”
“The cafe is casual and relaxed and the staff are really friendly. Food is really good - there is a lot of choice and ability to customise your meal. And the bonus of it being next to Bunnings is there is plenty of parking.”
“This is a high quality locally run store. If you want cheap cards then yes The Warehouse or the $2 shop are cheaper but if you want something special or that looks like you have put in that extra bit of thought then this is the place. Also acts as a post shop. Cute kids stuff, books, gifts and calendars as well.”
“Were available to visit the house the same week, good price and work completed.”
“Perfecto. Staff were awesome. Some noise inside by inconsiderate guests arriving late at night but no noise from outside at all. Location perfect, we flew at 6am. Have stayed probably 4 or 5 x now and have already rebooked for my next trip.”
“Very nice store. Bought a blanket there without a price tag. At the checkout I was asked how much I'd feel comfortable paying. I said 20$ and the guy just went "No, it got stains on it, 10$". Very lovely store and staff :)”

“Fantastic service on a very hot Saturday afternoon. My partner has never experienced a cold coffee before so the wonderful woman behind the counter was patient as she explained the different variations available. He was stoked with her recommendation! As always, I've enjoyed their Americano's for a few years now and today was no exception. Great services, yummy chocolates and delicious drinks.”
“The barista who served me was very tall and attractive”
“The best coffee and scones in Wellington, fair trade certified, expertly made and delicious. Plus they do a lot of awesome community work!”
“I love the coffee of red rabbit! Awesome service and the best coffee ever!”
“I recently stayed at Nomads Capital Backpackers – Wellington and I felt truly at home. From the moment I walked in, the warm welcome I received, especially from Isabel at reception, made all the difference. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and seemed genuinely invested in making my stay comfortable. The interior is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, with cozy communal areas that feel inviting, a lovely courtyard, and a fully equipped kitchen that feels like a shared living room rather than a hostel. Everything is clean, well maintained, and the vibe is relaxed yet vibrant. Best of all, it’s affordable without compromising on quality or friendliness. Whether you're arriving solo or with friends, looking to explore Wellington on a budget or just want a welcoming place to rest, this is it. I wholeheartedly recommend Nomads Capital to anyone in Wellington, or anywhere in New Zealand really, who’s searching for budget accommodation with a friendly heart, warm smiles, and a truly homey atmosphere. Thank you, especially Isabel, for making this such a memorable stay!”
