    I have been in a few times in the past year and the customer service has gone downhill… on one occasion I saw a short hared brunette worker walk away from the counter when there was a large line and start talking to another coworker beside the counter about one of the customers.. very rude service and when I was served I asked about a club card I said I don’t have one and askedto sign up I was told no with no explanation… very disappointing service.

    Both Māori resources and customer service are woefully deficient here. Given that Te Reo Māori is this nation's official language, the dearth of options is APPAULING. Last but not least, either their employees are incredibly bored or they have a major problem with people of color in their store?. I don't understand why staff members are often hovering around and starring at my family without providing any assistance. it is hard to imagine that someone would want to steal anything from a bookshop. Its even more ridiculous when they pretend to be preoccupied staring aimlessly at their shelves?. Too many employees contributing nothing of value to both the customers and the store. A shame really. As my children are avid readers but felt uncomfortable. Will purchase elsewhere.

    Busy but well organised store in Queensgate Mall. Plenty of Christmas or all year round gifts for all ages. Great book selection and gift vouchers available. Lotto available here too.

    Very poor service we receive, as we bit near to closing time of the shop, still 5 minutes left for closing time , will never visit again lower hutt branch again

    Disappointed with the limited stock and poor content under Māoritanga. I was looking for books relating to proverbs and Matariki and there were none to be found. These should be staples on your shelves. Please do better!

    I’m absolutely taken back by my service today. I dealt with a rude elder saleswoman who belittled and discouraged my chosen items. I’m shocked and will no longer be shopping with Withcoulls even though I have been a frequent shopper. Disappointing.

    Super friendly staff, massive selection, well organized. I like stopping in, even when I'm not looking for anything specific because their bargains make for great little finds. The club card program is also a nice bonus.
