“We had a great time over here while conducting a seminar on safe rigging practice.”
“Hidden gem. This place's esthetic is true Japanese and yet, it's blended so well with good world beer and the art of conversation. Dominic, the bar owner made me feel welcomed and we chatted about the world and beer for ages. They made me great beer recommendations and made me a stonkin' vegan sandwich (pulled jackfruit). Low-key. Friendly. Tasty beer and snacks. Top marks!”
“The Events Centre is a brand new development with the latest audio visual equipment for conferencing and events. The spaces has all new amenities, facilities and class leading infrastructure to support any size of event up to a maximum of 1200 delegates (static audience).”
“My wife and I have veen to at least five productions so far.. Real people sing and act before you and, when you're lucky, there's the occasional interactive element. Great scripts, lighting and sound, but above all, it's the locals who pour their heart and soul into it. They enjoy themselves and so do we. Switch your TV off and experience the extra dimension only live theatre can offer.”
“What a hidden little gem. Friends and I go to a show a month, usually a musical. And we went to Mana little theatre for the first time last night. Was an intimate and well resourced little theatre. The seats are terribly uncomfortable due to their recline though so suggest taking a cushion if you struggle with back pain. Also recommend wearing layers. It was unbearably warm with thermals on! A couple of star actors there too who are destined for big things. The standard of direction was excellent.”
“Have seen a number of performances in this great space and I think it accommodates live performances very well.”
“Great acoustics, easy access to seating. Parking not so easy.”
“Amazing actors in the play 'The Crucible'. Not knowing the story I was surprised it was close to 3 hrs long.”
“Great work do with helpful staff”
“Went to see Alice in Wonderland today with the Cushion Theatre - what a great concept and a wonderful opportunity to introduce theater to children. Looking forward to going to more shows! Plenty of parking in the Best Start Cashmere car park and along the river. Popcorn and candy available and 10% off coffee next door when you present the program.”
“We went to the dinner theatre for a hens party. We had people of all ages ranging from 27 - 60+ and everyone enjoyed themselves. We had a lot of great laughs and a great night ! We will be back for the next theme !”
“Beautiful works in a beautiful building. Even the drain pipes are beautiful.”
“Enjoyed An Anzac Broadcast from the Hamilton City Brass Vocalists Zachary Clarke,Brooke Ottaway & Jack Turner absolutely amazing.Well done.”
“Candlelight concert. July 2025. Great venue, looked magical! Friendly helpful staff and the string quartet were amazing, as always.”
“We had an amazing evening yesterday at the dinner and show to see Sister Act. Our first time but will definitely not be our last after watching this talented cast and the enthusiasm which was put into this show. The dinner was spot on and the wait staff incredibly friendly. Thank you all.”
“What a fantastic show-Pricilla Queen of the desert - cast and production were top notch and the enthusiasm and energy put forward was great. Please look at either 1. Replacing the seating or 2. having them re-foamed/covered..they really were v. Uncomfortable. The seats are well past their use by date !”
“Lovely small town theater experience. Great staff, great space, and all around a lovely facility.”
“Delightful little theatre with very comfortable seating. The screen is a decent size and the picture is always clear. The sound can be easily understood according to my hubby and for those, like myself who have difficulty hearing, there are headsets available. I use these in place of my hearing aids. There’s a reasonable selection of drinks including wine. We have not tried the pizzas which need to be ordered 20 minutes prior to the movie. Highly recommend checking out a flick here.”
“Went to the Heathers production, absolutely loved it, cute little theater and staff were lovely, coffee/tea and slices provided at intermission included in ticket price. Look forward to seeing future productions at this place”
“So good, I was front row. Pretty much on stage.”
“Took my moko there. Love the ambience and enjoyed the movie. Although when purchasing tickets, would be good if we could see how long the movie is. I wasn't expecting Jurassic Park to be so long.”
“Our salesperson Sov was excellent. He was informative, knowledgeable and genuine. We looked no further and bought on the spot. After the purchase we received the wrong product but realise until we had it home. Following a call and store visit to get the correct product, Dane and Josh were also amazing. Helpful, understanding and accommodating. A true throw back to the days of excellent customer service. What a refreshing experience. The store manager who gave us the wrong dishwasher to begin with and couldn't muster anything more than a "where's your receipt" could learn an awful lot from the excellent team of salespeople that clearly make the store a success.”
“We are rating just the Cafe. It was excellent and has retained high standards over the years. Perfect cheese scones and coffee.”
“Lecture theatre is too comfy, too easy to fall asleep in boring stats classes, however not complaining so 5 stars”
On the plate at Parcels Restaurant, the idea is grill-focused and well executed. Ribs and steaks come seasoned and tender. Team members keep things friendly and on task. Takeaway holds up well on the drive.
“I've been hiring the Raye Freedman Arts Centre & Theatre facilities to host shows for more than 15 years! Great team to work with, beautiful stage, always clean & tidy. Lots of space backstage. Highly recommend!”
“Awesome place to get your coffee on the run. We always make a quick stop when we close by.”
“Barbara Jenner's review above has confused two venues. She is criticising the large Torbay Community Hall which is owned by the TCA - Torbay Community Association. Torbay Theatre, an amateur theatre group, owns the small Gate Theatre which is attached to the Hall. I hope this clarifies things?”
“The best part are the acoustics. You have very good sound quality wherever you sit. The staff are friendly and helpful and the shows are always of a very high caliber.”
“It was a 5 star performance. The cast performed Young Frankenstein.”
