Barbara Jenner's review above has confused two venues. She is criticising the large Torbay Community Hall which is owned by the TCA - Torbay Community Association. Torbay Theatre, an amateur theatre group, owns the small Gate Theatre which is attached to the Hall. I hope this clarifies things?
Lovely size, but it needs updating. This includes the kitchen, plus new curtains that can be opened as the hall is very dark. There's no natural light. The toilets aren't accessible for less mobile people because of steps.

Great little playhouse! It's a bit tired, but still very nice and the play we went to was great fun!
Nice, cosy hall, so need fans if a crowd. Torbay theatre club nite. Was good but not as good as 2018 club nite. Lights were used well and the stage is a good size. Supplied crisps, nuts and dip. Was BYO. Piano was a loud one.
