“My daughter and I went for dinner tonight and we’ll definitely being going back. Each meal was well presented and delicious! Tastier than other Japanese restaurants I’ve been to. There is so much more on the menu I want to try. Was lovely just the two of us, but can imagine even better with a larger group and sharing more meals. Our meals came out with some time between them so I did get dinner envy of others I saw. But when ours arrived it was totally worth the wait. You def need to try this one. My latest east Auckland fav.”

“Ordered on line. Pick up time said 7:16 didn’t get my food until 7:45. I don’t mind waiting for food but I do get frustrated when they say pick up at such a time and then keep you waiting half an hour. They need to sort out their pick time on the Internet.”

“Wow, what a night. We went for a birthday dinner . The atmosphere was great, the food was exceptional, with huge portions, the service was excellent. We wanted for nothing. We'd certainly go back to Der Metz. Highly recommend”

“Firstly, these guys offer those super tasty Cantonese/Hong Kong flavours - not the less satisfying mainland Chinese flavours becoming more prevalent in the city. Even the free soup (see pics) was tastier than many paid soups found in other restaurants. We ordered the Dry Fried Round Beans (G1 on the menu at the time of ordering) which comes with that super tasty Cantonese pork sauce - it makes everything taste better! And a big serve of Soy Chicken BBQ noodle soup (N2 on the menu at the time of ordering) - you won’t leave hungry! Delicious Cantonese style Soy chicken & BBQ pork with egg noodles - and that sweet/umami combo Cantonese soups are famous for. Even the tea was special, with a balanced, light fragrance which comes from a touch of lemon - a house blend apparently. Thank you, we’ll definitely be back!”

“My partner and I have been going to this place to get takeout for years and we love it! The food is amazing, portions very generous and affordable, the staff are always super friendly, and it's definitely the most value for money takeout you can get pretty much anywhere! The takeout is cold so you have to heat it yourself, but its 1000% worth it.”

“Dinned in a few times over my stay this week and everything was great! Perfect steak, crispiest potato’s, a fun spin on the classic devilled eggs, pork chop (excuse my mess) and even the room service Club sandwich was enormous! Washed down with a great wine list and good pick me up coffee in the morning.”

“Breakfast here is genuinely excellent. It’s at the top-end price-wise but the quality is superb and the portions generous. I had the ‘big’ breakfast (mixed grill I think it was called?) and my fellow diner had the caponata and raved about it. I wish I photographed them before we started…. The service was also excellent. “Place of good food with nice environment and one side lake. There are hips of car parking. There entrance are very wheelchair and strollers friendly. They have lots of entrance and entry options. This is the great place for buffet or party or conference with staying in there hotels. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. They just cleaned the tables within seconds. You don’t worry about used plates. All staffs are very responsive. They will give you super first for your services.”

“Great atmosphere. Food is really delicious. The only reason for 4 stars is that the steak was a little bit over cooked, but luckily still pink. The stuffed chicken was fantastic, the peppercorn sauce the star of the show! Friendly staff and prompt service. Great restaurant with good variety. Today, I couldn't fault anything. And the 2 girls that served us were SO amazing!! It felt like home! Thank you so much!”

“Delicious gluten free Korean street food goodness All of this was great, amazing fries too. Almost the whole menu is gluten free and can be made safe for coeliacs. We had the popcorn chicken, popcorn cauliflower, deep fried brie and fries, and had no gluten reactions at all”

“We had our wedding reception here and it was AMAZING! The functions manager, Chyanne has been amazing during the early planning, to figuring out the last minute details. They been very accommodating for guests who had dietary/allergies, and the staff that night were fantastic for making sure our reception was amazing! The hotel's fantastic location made exploring the city a breeze. ​From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the beautiful atmosphere and the genuinely friendly, professional staff—especially Ray and Anthony, who were absolutely amazing. ​The food was just as impressive. The weekend high tea was an exceptional experience, with every tea and accompanying food item delicious and the service impeccable. ​Breakfast was a definite highlight. While the buffet was decent, the à la carte menu was sleek and memorable—I'm still dreaming about the egg benedict and the delicious mushroom dish. ​Dinner was just as stunning, thanks to a fantastic salmon dish and the breathtaking night waterfront view. As a seafood lover who usually avoids raw oysters, I was amazed by the one I stole from my friend—it was incredibly fresh, and the vinaigrette was a perfect touch. ​And the experience didn't stop there. The room was spacious and tidy, and I absolutely loved the bathtub. ​I was also pleasantly surprised by the value. “Went to Lulu’s for the first time for our 5 year anniversary and it was nothing short of phenomenal! The drinks were fantastic and the food was presented amazingly , absolutely delish and full of many different flavours that all paired together so well. Safe to say we will absolutely be back! Fantastic value as well, we were surprised with our final bill and would recommend Lulu’s for a perfect date night or group get together!”

“Fantastic place for all day dim sum or yum cha or just a great meal. The restaurant is very large and though on the weekends bookings are advised, we went on a Tuesday night and it was quite empty. The food was delicious, the service great and the wine list of high quality. We had a great Riesling from Germany which paired perfectly with the meal. You must get the crispy skin pork. It is amazing. Also of note are the soup dumplings. Everything was of high quality and I love that they constantly fill up your tea without needing to ask. Highly recommended.”
