We LOVE this place and have been going for maybe 15 years. It’s delicious, simple, clean and reliable. Home-style Korean food. And the owner is lovely. We never bother with the other Korean restaurants. Pity they don’t have a liquor licence - that’s the only way it could be better! But we still love it.
The (assumed) couple that run this place are amazingly friendly. We went here especially for bibimbap and were not disappointed. It would have been great for this place to have been busier, and probably deserves to be. My partner and I couldn't fault the food. The kimchi was great, the kimchi pancake was delicious and the Bibimbap was an absolute treat. Thank you!
Delicious authentic Korean food. I had the seafood stew and a kimchi pancake, both options were delicious. The meal came with some cold side dishes too. The lady who served us was very friendly. I’d be happy to go back there again.
Absolutely delicious food, ingredients are fresh and yummy. The japchae is delicious and vegitarian. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Amazing service. Thank you so much this will be a new regular for us ☺️☺️
Food is as expected. It is easy and good place to have if you want that homely vibe. Rather tucked away space with no music, so a rather silent space. Service is top notch.
We went to this place during our visit in Wellington but we were very disappointed. The Bulgogi was dry without much sauce, and we were only given 2 side dishes. Really? That was MEAN as we know how important the side dishes are in Korean cuisine. For every single Korean restaurant I visited in Christchurch, we normally have at least 4 side dishes. I actually checked google reviews before we went to this place, but apparently the reviews misled us and I don't know how this place would have such positive reviews based on what we were serviced. Anyway definitely will not go to this place if we visit Welly again in the future.
It is just poorly cooked for a $55 dollars.. i would expect something alot better.. look at the egg is fully cooked, (usually should he half cooked) , and the scallop is cracked without the other half open. The standard is really something from supermarket and worth only $15 . $55 is just ridiculously priced for substandard dish. And not even have kimchi... really just a waste of money coming here
Best Korean restaurant in Wellington. I have tried Korean food everywhere in New Zealand but this is the only place I felt like authentic Korean food. Amazing taste and I can have this food everyday. Hope more people will visit this place. I’m so glad I tried there food.
This Korean restaurant is such a hidden gem and I'm glad I discovered it soon enough! I have enjoyed few meals here so far - it gives off a very authentic Korean eatery vibe, and its slightly secluded location rendered some wonderful privacy, a special factor to my liking. I love the chicken bokkum, Korean pancakes, kimchi stew! The kimchi tastes well when it is served cold, quite complementary with other hot dishes. The lady boss is a very kind and friendly person where I saw her giving a free gift to a kid before the family leaves the store, bringing smiles to people's faces.
Small place, tasty and authentic southern korean food. Price reflects the portion. Not kids friendly at all, even though they do offer high chair. We had a bad dine-in experience. Very disappointed with the owner given us attitude after our 10mo dinned with us in the restaurant. Despite the effort that we used our own wet wipes to clean the floor, high chair and tray after meal, the owner stood at the counter and starred at us rudely throughout the whole clean-up time. Do not recommend dine in with young kids.
