“Went here to get a chinese meal a few weeks ago. I ordered the roast pork wonton noodle soup, which tasted absolutely amazing! Very impressive quality of meat and wontons, making the dish great value for money. I have been to Fang's many times for both fish and chips as well as Chinese and never disappoints.”
“Nirpesh (manager) was really good and accommodating. Service was excellent and the food was exquisite. Beef cheeks, squid, burger, chicken parmigiana were all top notch”
“It was a quick and simple Crepe but just gloriously covered in chocolate to a reasonable degree but I enjoyed watching them make it, they were swift but careful, and it was delicious to eat.”
“The lady there is so lovely, always sneaks in an extra fish and large scoops of chips. Sorry for the bad photo quality.”
“The best Fish and Chip shop in Stokes Valley. Very large and tasty fish and generous portions of chips.”
“Who cares about atmosphere, I much prefer to go into a shop with a 30 year decor and get yummy food than the opposite. And these guys produced the yummy f&c and Chinese meals. Seriously amazing! Super happy.”
“My favourite fast food in Hutt Valley. They refreshed the design of the menu and added some new positions.”
“The best Chinese I've had. Sweet and sour pork is so crispy. Love the $36 set menu Chinese. Lovely service. Burgers are thick meat patties, not those thin ones. We are now regulars and absolutely recommend trying them out.”
“Awesome team and yummy food , best fish bites for cheap”
“As a Shanghainese myself, I gotta say this restaurant offers the most authentic Shanghai local food in Lower Hutt, if not in Wellington. The fish fillet and the fried rice are amazing. Love them all! Thank you. Cheers~”
“Very very good food. The service is very fast and good. The food tastes always very authentic and I would give it a 10/10 every time. Wide menu range with many different options and all are very yummy. Would highly recommend!”
“Food is well priced and the chef is very underated. He is good. Really good food. I eat a heckuva lot of curry, have tried a lot of different places. Food is great. Just ordered my second meal there. I can't comment on the atmosphere as I had a take-away.”
“Been coming here since I was little as its less than 5 mins away from my house. Best fish and chips, used to bike down with my cousins and tell the person working we were here for our chips and they knew us. Most reliable with quality and so fast with their food!”
“Such a good takeaway, fish and chips and lovely, the spicy chicken nibbles are incredible! Owners are so friendly too.”
“Very user-friendly online ordering website or app. Easy to use and easy payment system. Pizzas were ready at pickup time and pizzas were very tasty. The counter service at Mana store was average and could be improved. The store is no longer fully decorated inside and the walls look very bare. It would look so much better if the walls were decorated and the lighting improved. Very dark inside.”
“TINA AN HER PARENTS AND HER AUNTIE IS THE BEST THEY ALWAYS BRING FOOD TO OUR EPS CLASS”
“Best Biryani had so far. Highly recommend.”
“The best chicken burger you will ever have.”
“Delicious curries, large sizes, good protein portions, we found the spice level on the higher end of the scale”
“An unreserved 5 out of 5 when taking into account quality and value. Naan breads are huge, Tandoor Chicken was fantastic, and the several curries I've tried were delicious. Underrated hidden gem. 2023 edit: still fantastic even though prices marginally up. Can’t go past the ‘Old Fashioned Lamb Curry’….seriously, it’s really good; even if the vege constituents vary and the name doesn’t tally with swanky fare. The naan’s are still the biggest and most legit you’ll find from any Indian takeaway. Would love to see what tandoor they’re rocking back there! Do yourself a favour and visit these guys. 2024 edit: yup, still the best. Little more spensey, but that reflects the general situation everywhere. Two old fashioneds with rice, some bhajis, a tandoor chicken, a couple of naans……you’ll eat like a maharaja for going on four days or more. Best naans ever. 2025 edit: Absolutely hands down the best. The old-fashioned lamb curry cannot be beat, and must be the signature dish in my opinion. Roiling away for days on end, random bits and pieces added as some sort of eternal curry; vegetable components changing but flavour evolving. Naans giant. Tandoor chicken epic. Eat for days. Ignore the 1-star review casuals.”
“Fully enjoyed my stir fry noodles here — great flavor, fresh ingredients, and perfectly cooked! Definitely coming back again.”
“After check in at the Quality Hotel Elms, we wandered downstairs and asked the front desk about nearby pubs with patios. The ‘concierge’? said, “we have a patio”. I said “I need craft beer that is not Heineken or Budweiser”. The concierge smiled and said “we have that”. I said “show me this goodness”. We sat outside on the Fig Restaurant and Bar patio for a few hours and ran the Monteith's brewery tap list. We were lucky in that this seemed to be the only pub/bar in the area that actually had a patio and we made the most of it. Beer was great. Service was great. I think they also ran the restaurant in the hotel but am not 100% sure so wont comment on the food.”
“Best Biryani had so far. Highly recommend.”
