“The braised green bean and egg plant was different from pic (no onions, no pepper, and the color) So we asked about it. A staff said, it couldn’t be the same as pic. and plz try it and if you still don’t like it, I’ll change it for you. So we tried and asked another menu. (Taste was good tho) all dishes were fantastic!! and even when we checked out, she changed to lower price we ordered at the first. thank u so much!!”
“Firstly, these guys offer those super tasty Cantonese/Hong Kong flavours - not the less satisfying mainland Chinese flavours becoming more prevalent in the city. Even the free soup (see pics) was tastier than many paid soups found in other restaurants. We ordered the Dry Fried Round Beans (G1 on the menu at the time of ordering) which comes with that super tasty Cantonese pork sauce - it makes everything taste better! And a big serve of Soy Chicken BBQ noodle soup (N2 on the menu at the time of ordering) - you won’t leave hungry! Delicious Cantonese style Soy chicken & BBQ pork with egg noodles - and that sweet/umami combo Cantonese soups are famous for. Even the tea was special, with a balanced, light fragrance which comes from a touch of lemon - a house blend apparently. Thank you, we’ll definitely be back!”
“Siobhan and Mikayla are such an asset to Mayfield. We were looked after so well. Our Mimosas made delicious! Joyful and professional- the team was so impressive with the way they bounced a disgruntled customer … he was so out of line. Well done ladies.”
“I like that Westgate Cinemas offers half price Tuesday tickets, especially since movie prices keep climbing. Most of the time I’m fine waiting for Tuesday instead of paying full price on release day, so it makes going to the movies more affordable and enjoyable. The cinema is always clean, the staff are friendly, and it’s a solid place to catch a film without breaking the bank.”
“Going to the movies in my opinion is a special treat, and it helps when the cinema has everything you need for a great time. Hoyts Wairau is very convenient located, and has plenty of parking which makes a huge difference, so you're not stressed before the film looking for a park. Once inside, the comfort continues with plush, comfortable seating that lets you sink in and put your feet up. No cinema trip is complete without snacks, and a good variety ensures there's something for everyone, from classic popcorn to more gourmet options.”
“After an initial rocky start with noisy neighbours, the hotel reception shifted me to a different floor. The old room and the new room were identical. Both of them were great and quite clean maybe 9/10. The bed was comfortable, also clean and medium firmness, which I liked. Shower pressure in both rooms were good. Generally, I think this is a good place to stay if you need to be on Auckland's North Shore. Interactions with reception and housekeeping were always pleasant. There were very, very minor issues like the kettle flap was broken, the dryer ran extremely loudly. I was a little embarrassed to use the dryer at night due to the noise. The towels were thin and could be thicker.”
“Great atmosphere. Food is really delicious. The only reason for 4 stars is that the steak was a little bit over cooked, but luckily still pink. The stuffed chicken was fantastic, the peppercorn sauce the star of the show! Friendly staff and prompt service. Great restaurant with good variety. Today, I couldn't fault anything. And the 2 girls that served us were SO amazing!! It felt like home! Thank you so much!”
“The asian lady that served me was wonderful. A great deal and she made it even better. Sleeping bag and bed.”
“Pak’nSave Silverdale is a well-sized, tidy store that serves the wider Hibiscus Coast area and does a solid job of it. It’s not flashy or overly modern, but it’s practical and clean, with that familiar warehouse-style layout that Pak’nSave is known for. If you’re after low prices without the bells and whistles, it ticks the right boxes. The store is spacious and easy to navigate, even during busier times. Aisles are wide, shelves are usually well-stocked, and signage is clear enough to help you find what you need without wandering too much. The overall vibe is no-frills, but things generally run smoothly and efficiently. Prices are sharp across the board — groceries, meat, produce, and household items all come in at the lower end, especially if you keep an eye out for specials. The fruit and veg section can be a bit hit or miss depending on the day you visit, but most of the time it’s decent. The meat section usually has a good range at affordable prices, and the bakery offers the basics like bread, rolls, and a few sweet treats. Staff are usually around if you need help, but it’s a typical Pak’nSave setup — more of a DIY experience. Most people are just in and out, focused on the shop, so don’t expect high-touch service. That said, checkout lines move fairly quickly and self-service options help if you’re only picking up a few things. The carpark is decent with a fair amount of space, though it can get full during peak shopping times, especially weekends. The location is handy too, close to other shops in the area, so it’s easy to tick off errands in one go. As with other Pak’nSaves, the online listings don’t always match what’s in-store, so it’s best to go in with a flexible list rather than expecting everything to be there. Overall, Pak’nSave Silverdale is a dependable local spot. It’s not fancy, but it’s clean, roomy, and delivers on what really matters — saving money. If you’re in the area and want to stock up without spending too much, it’s worth the stop.”
“Always, always high quality, been going for years and have never once had an issue. Love the sushi and every staff member is always so helpful and welcoming! Love this store. Will always try to go here above others!!”
“Great service, good practical money saving advice and value for money care combined with decent friendly personalities only too willing to help. I have complete faith in this crew to give me the best advice and service.”
“Review Title: A Quirky and Colorful Masterpiece in the Heart of Wellington If you ever find yourself wandering the vibrant streets of Te Aro, Wellington, let your feet lead you to the iconic Bucket Fountain on Cuba Street. A whimsical concoction of moving art, color, and the playful dance of water, this unique fountain is more than just a landmark; it's an experience. The Bucket Fountain, with its quirky design and unpredictable water flow, captures the heart of Wellington's creative spirit. The arrangement of colorful buckets, tipping and spilling water in unexpected ways, creates a delightful spectacle that enthralls both young and old. It’s not merely about the visual amusement but the anticipation of where the water will splash next, making each visit a new adventure. Located in the bustling Cuba Street, this fountain adds an element of joy to the already lively atmosphere. Yet, amidst all this, the Bucket Fountain stands out as a focal point of communal happiness and an embodiment of the city’s quirky charm. Visiting the Bucket Fountain has become a sort of rite of passage for tourists and a beloved oddity for locals. It’s a place where you can see laughter erupting spontaneously, and where memories are made in the splash zone. Watching children trying to predict the next move of the buckets, or adults capturing the perfect photo, you realize that this fountain is not just an object, but a participant in the daily life of Wellington. What’s more, the Bucket Fountain serves as a colorful backdrop to the ever-changing street scenes of Cuba Street, reflecting both the sunlight and the vibrant energy of its surroundings. In sum, the Bucket Fountain is not merely a fountain but a living, splashing embodiment of joy and unpredictability. Its charm lies in its ability to surprise, delight, and bring people together in shared moments of whimsy. A visit to Wellington would be incomplete without experiencing the playful magic of the Bucket Fountain. It’s a testament to the city’s love for creativity and an unmissable spectacle that earns a well-deserved five stars.”
“This cafe is by the pool and is really lovely. The food is all delicious, and the staff are friendly. Surrounded by bushes, it has a really pleasant atmosphere. We'll definitely be back again!”
“The dosa was absolutely delicious, really tasty and well made. Food quality is excellent and I’d definitely come back for the taste alone. The only downside was the cleanliness, the floor and tables were sticky, which took away from the overall experience. If they improve this, it would be a perfect spot.”
“Delicious gluten free Korean street food goodness All of this was great, amazing fries too. Almost the whole menu is gluten free and can be made safe for coeliacs. We had the popcorn chicken, popcorn cauliflower, deep fried brie and fries, and had no gluten reactions at all”
“Great place, we stopped on our way through Wellington to play a game of pool and have a jug. Great prices and friendly staff highly recommend!”
“Jugnus’s Little India offers an authentic taste of India right on our doorstep. Their butter chicken is a sublime journey of flavors, and the street food options transport you straight to the bustling lanes of Delhi. For genuine Indian cuisine that tickles the taste buds, this is the place to be! Parking is easy to find and pay attention on the location, it is at the end of the motel’s driveway. Then the great smell will lead you to their door.”
“We had our wedding reception here and it was AMAZING! The functions manager, Chyanne has been amazing during the early planning, to figuring out the last minute details. They been very accommodating for guests who had dietary/allergies, and the staff that night were fantastic for making sure our reception was amazing! Would recommend and will come again for outings ”
“Got hosted by Mark tonight. Wonderful chap, checked on top ups for drinks and food. made sure we were comfortable. Our original server didn't seem like she could be bothered after the order to meal check, but mark ensured we had a good time”
“The staff and chef were awesome. Lovely young team. Best dory and chips with delicious salad & vinaigrette. Simple food cooked perfectly. Price super reasonable. Thank you so much to the girl who served us (European accent) and the chef, who went out of his way.”
“I’m sorry but how have I never been here before in my 14 years living in Wellington. Such a cosy nook, blink and you’ll miss it. the last Bastian of a cheap eggs on toast in Wellington if you will. AND mayoral candidate Rob Gouldon was seated there wearing a massive ribbon like a prize- what a treat. I’ll be back a million times over”
“I was invited and signed in by a friend and was pleasantly satisfied. Food was great.”
“Super helpful staff great selection of hardware, garden goods and more. A bit busy on a Saturday but there was even a sausage sizzle on the go - what could be more Kiwi?”
“Another great store. I was very surprised to see such a huge array of different coffee brands. From Italian to Belgium. Parking is fine & has direct access to carts & trolleys before & after entry. The service was warm, polite & hospitable. A huge selection of goods at various prices made it fun to shop & ease of choice. I recommend a visit, if just to sample some of their amazing selections of coffee, cheeses, biscuits & a lot more. You will not be disappointed. Don't forget your coupon book, every little saving goes along way.”
