“Tried this out for my birthday because of the reviews. Did not disappoint. Beautiful dishes. Not all dishes were to my liking but I dined with family & everyone enjoyed their food. We spent around $500 & that's js because we bought heaps of plates for 9 of us & had heaps of leftovers. Loved the bbq pork & sweet taro balls? And also the little buns with condensed milk not sure what they were called. Duck was also good. Oh and the soft shell crab was to die for. So good. Too many other dishes to name but thoroughly enjoyed our meals & will definitely come back in the near future to try other dishes. Thank you”

“We walked in off the street with our 2 mokos. There was no hesitation about giving us the last table. The restaurant was so very busy but there was a very relaxed feel, despite their busyness. The attendents were friendly and engaging. There was an apology for the length of wait time but no apology was needed, the food was delicious, your service tops and the atmosphere was perfect. “We were delightfully surprised by this hidden gem tucked away in the Tuam St kitchens. There was a bit of a mix up with our order making it take 20+ minutes extra but considering it was a very rainy and busy Sunday night and the food was still handed to us piping hot with an extra mango lassi we weren't too fussed. Any small amount of hanger we were still experiencing was immediately blown away the moment we opened those containers and saw the glorious food inside! Everything was amazing. Beautiful soft lamb in the rogan josh, tasty chicken tikka, super stretchy cheese naan. Definitely the best Indian takeaway I've ever had. Restaurant quality to go! Highly recommend you check them out.”

“Ok i firstly need to admit, I'm not easy to please these days, as i find many places just lack in quality service and overall taste and flavour. I'm happy to report this place is really nice. Wonderful friendly service and excellent quality food. We had the twice braised beef, lamb ribs, pan seared beans, chips, money bags and beef dumplings. All dishes were just as they should be. The lamb didn't look that nice but the first bite changed all that with a lovely flame grilled flavor. We'll definitely be back for more.”

“Fantastic fish, with good size fillets for the fish n chips. The Chinese menu is extensive and are also fantastically cooked. Staff certainly know their stuff. Wait time is reasonable at around 10 minutes for most orders on a busy night in Waterloo. Fresh fish can also be bought here and also when in season Bluff Oysters. The entire place is spotless from top to bottom.”

“Wow is all I can say. I heard about Tuk Tuk thai over the years but we hadn't made it out of the city to try it. I am so glad we did as this was such beautiful Thai food. The atmosphere is lovely and you can tell that the owners put a lot of love into the decor. The service was great with friendly and attentive staff. But the food was the best Thai we've had in the wellington region. My husband and I both love Thai food and have tried most of the Thai restaurants in the wellington region, but Tuk Tuck Thai blew us away. The red curry is so silky, flavorful, and decadent and I felt like I was having a high end, luxurious Thai meal. The green curry was also very unctuous and flavorful with just the right hint of spice. The menu warns that both curry's come as medium, and we were a bit worried because we are not the best with spice, but neither were too spicy for us, so don't let that scare you off. We also had the roti with satay sauce and wow, the satay sauce is beautiful with great flavor, and one that you can tell is made in house. I 1000% recommend TukTuck Thai and if you have not tried it yet, please do, as you won't be disappointed. We are still talking about that meal the next day and cannot wait to go back.”
