“Me and my partner decided to try this place as it opened relatively recently, and we were not disappointed! We ordered lots of starters, which are normally on the yum cha menu during lunch. The tripe and the fried squid were probably my favourites, but all of the dishes were really good! Even my partner who is normally hard to impress was really happy with all of the food. The place also has a really nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. We’re definitely going back!”

“Firstly, these guys offer those super tasty Cantonese/Hong Kong flavours - not the less satisfying mainland Chinese flavours becoming more prevalent in the city. Even the free soup (see pics) was tastier than many paid soups found in other restaurants. We ordered the Dry Fried Round Beans (G1 on the menu at the time of ordering) which comes with that super tasty Cantonese pork sauce - it makes everything taste better! And a big serve of Soy Chicken BBQ noodle soup (N2 on the menu at the time of ordering) - you won’t leave hungry! Delicious Cantonese style Soy chicken & BBQ pork with egg noodles - and that sweet/umami combo Cantonese soups are famous for. Even the tea was special, with a balanced, light fragrance which comes from a touch of lemon - a house blend apparently. Thank you, we’ll definitely be back!”

“Fantastic place for all day dim sum or yum cha or just a great meal. The restaurant is very large and though on the weekends bookings are advised, we went on a Tuesday night and it was quite empty. The food was delicious, the service great and the wine list of high quality. We had a great Riesling from Germany which paired perfectly with the meal. You must get the crispy skin pork. It is amazing. Also of note are the soup dumplings. Everything was of high quality and I love that they constantly fill up your tea without needing to ask. Highly recommended.”

“The food was great and the service was fast...prices were reasonable, we got 12 dishes and came to 240. I'd say that's cheap!!! The only down fall the seating was so crowded there were 13 of us on a round table we couldn't even fit. They need to sort their space out”

“Anyone who asks for the best Peking duck in Wellington, this is where you come! They have the best chef from Beijing and you get so much meat! You can choose "one way", 2 ways (Peking duck with noodle stir fry) or 3 ways (duck bone soup) basically just use the rest of the duck and not wasting them. We got the 3 ways and the soup is nice and refreshing, noodles we could live without but it's fine. Bonus is their cold dish mung bean noodles is the best I've ever had and love their stir fried eggplant with mince stuffing.”

“My wife and I had their mee goreng last night. I had the combination meat, and she had seafood. W-O-W-! Without a doubt, the best mee goreng either of us have ever had. The portions were generous and I remember thinking when it came out; "great, I'll take the leftovers home for tomorrow's dinner", but it was so delicious, that I scoffed the lot! The bloke who served our table was really polite and attentive. Do yourself a favour, and get that mee!”

“Got here just in time before they take last orders, specifically coming for the "couples" meal set, and it's huge! You'll definitely be leaving with a box after two big bowls of noodles and a massive mound of the sweet and sour chicken (or alternative option). Nice lady serving. “My wife and two of my daughters and I had lunch here. It is a lovely restaurant, nice, friendly staff and the food is of a high quality, extremely well presented, and delicious. Wife + Daughters loved the place and declared it a new favourite. I also enjoyed the food as well but not as immensely as they. The reason is because while the food is very high quality and delicious, I personally found it a little (just a tiny bit) watered down to cater for western tastes. I am not saying it is not authentic, just not quite as layered in its flavouring as you find in some other Chinese restaurants. If you look at the photos you will see that the food is high quality, but you can also probably also tell it is lightly flavoured. The only chilli sauce offered is a sweet chilli sauce that looks just like what you get from a bottle at home. I asked for some chilli oil and got some, but it was fairly bland. Edit: I have since done my research on Shanghai style cooking which apparently has an emphasis on sweetness, lightness, and freshness. So my comments on 'watered down' may be awry, it may simply be that I prefer a more robust regional style of Chinese cooking and this restaurant is offering a genuinely Shanghai style. This style may be influenced by the 100+ years Shanghai was a western entrepot to China.”
