Chopstick Restaurant is a cosy spot that serves up a great mix of Asian favourites, with a few Malaysian classics adding extra flavour to the menu. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for anything from a casual lunch to a relaxed dinner with friends. I tried the char kway teow and wat dan hor — both were fantastic. The char kway teow had just the right smoky wok hei, and the wat dan hor came with silky noodles in a rich, eggy sauce that was pure comfort. Everything felt fresh, flavourful, and cooked with care. The prices are fair for the generous portions. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to — sometimes for the Malaysian classics, sometimes for a simple, well-made noodle dish. Must-try: char kway teow, wat dan hor #AsianEats #LocalGem #ComfortFood

Chopsticks Restaurant is amazing, especially their lou sang and peng cai! The lou sang is super fresh, packed with flavour, and perfect for sharing—it’s seriously one of the best I’ve had. The peng cai is just as great, full of premium ingredients and so rich in taste. The food is top-notch, the vibe is chilled, and the service is on point. Highly recommend!

In terms of quality of food and cooking, this is by far the best Chinese restaurant in Christchurch! Dishes are well seasoned and cook to perfection. Just pick those dishes that are marked as “popular” or “chef recommendation” and you won’t go wrong. We tried the sweet and sour pork, hot plate beef, crispy fried chicken and clay pot tofu, and they all tasted great! Good service and very friendly staffs. Reasonably priced too. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere in this place it has great energetic vibes. The service was fast and the food was excellent, I recommend getting a beef or prawn dish. The staff are friendly and unlike some restaurants they have a sufficient amount of toilets. If your looking for a byo spot this restaurant is conveniently located next to a supermarket with a fine range of wines with about 30% of them on special. All in all a garunteed good time, give it a go.
