“Great cabinet food...lovely staff...delightful..”
“Excellent coffee here this morning. The cinnamon bun was prefect. The seating is inside the settlers museum , toitū, or on the deck. Recommended.”
“Excellent coffee always. a great place to hot desk while out on sales”
“lovely pies and savories. Nice sandwiches with lots of choices of fillings. Coffee good. Friendly owners.”
“Usually a very quiet and chill pub The food is not bad and friendly staff too”
“Most amazing service and the best coffee I’ve had in a long time! Came back here every morning we could; definitely recommend if you’re cashing quality food and coffee.”
“We’re regulars, and the food never disappoints, the eggs Benedict are always cooked to perfection! The team is friendly, welcoming, and they genuinely care about both their human and furry guests. If you’re a puppy owner, your dog will be treated just as well as you are. Always a pleasure to visit. Highly recommended!”
“This was the 1st place we had brunch after lockdown finished - was great to go out into a new place and give it a go, and we will be back to try the rest! It's definitely a step up on the old cafe - this is a Destination Cafe with a garden centre attached, rather than the traditional cheap tearooms pretending to be a cafe hidden at the back of the garden centre. Really nice layout and design - very much an "ikea Swedish" look complemented by fresh plants everywhere (as you would expect in a garden centre), with friendly service and a can-do attitude. A nice touch is that you can access directly from the road and the car park rather than having to fight your way through the retail in the garden centre. One little design issue for some customers: The flat reflective surfaces do mean a bit of noise when it's busy, so head out to the tables in the garden if you want a bit less bustle or you're hard of hearing. The Covid-19 L2 menu is a little reduced from the regular, but has all the essential brunch options, with a well crafted and fancy creamy porridge with the essential fruity and crunchy bits, terrific "big breakfast" for anyone wanting the full english, and a good Eggs Bene with the *outstanding* twist of including a zesty Spanish black bean hummus. Seriously, that black bean hummus is a star. Nice one, Kings! I hear the other stores may be updating to this style cafe soon, and look forward to it!”
“Cute Cafe with a community vibe. Lots of space for kids, captures the sun so warm even on a cold, clear day. Recommend the Breaky Loaf, with a long black.”
“The food was delicious! The hot chocolate was fluffy and not overly sweet. The Eggs Benedict was seriously good! The friendly lady at the shop was helpful, polite and efficient. Will definitely go again!”
“A good location with many delicious and reasonable price food. They use free range eggs to serve, which is really rare to see in Welly! Had a chat with the manager there. She is working on a charity and always share food to someone who really need it. She is very kind and respectable. Love the food and people in there.”
“Really good coffee. Put your phone number in the tablet and build up coffee purchases until you get a freebee. Awesome service and a modern industrial vibe to the place. It smells amazing in the mornings.”
“Loved my visit to the café. The water tasted great, and the service was fantastic, thanks to the young asian guy there. Plus, they even refilled my water bottle free of charge. Definitely returning!”
“Got the steak bacon and cheese pie, it was so good! Aren't shy with the bacon unlike most places and you can actually taste it! Super flakey pastry and priced decently. Will definitely be back whenever passing through Tirau”
“A wonderful cafe a little of the beaten track but very new and modern. We had wonderful service and my flat coffee was good too. One can also visit the adjacent museum there too which is really interesting. Don't be put of that it is located at a religious but historical site as they are very welcoming. I would definitely go back”
“Delicious food and fantastic coffee!”
“Friendly and mindful stuff, everyone is very nice and efficient. Generous portions, good quality meats. I love adding zucchini to my meal.”
“Lovely place for both a quick coffee during your doctor's visit, as well as a longer stay. It would totally serve as a standalone café, with fresh counter food, first-class coffee and lovely service. Do stop by!”
“I’ve been coming to Aunty Mena’s regularly for years and it never disappoints. Their wonton noodle soup is fantastic, the broth is so light, refreshing, and full of flavour, with perfectly cooked noodles, delicious wontons, and plenty of fresh vegetables, It’s a very comforting meal! The crispy fried wontons with a tangy sweet and sour dipping sauce are also really good too! The staff are always so lovely and welcoming, they even remember me and my order every time I come in, which makes it feel extra special. Aunty Mena’s is truly a gem and easily my favourite restaurant ever!”
“One of only few place in town where you can get authentic chinese skewer grill! Love the ambiance and the vibe, but there could be a delay with orders as they only have one tiny grill outside that does all the work. And the price is a little steep.”
“Highly recommend their fried chicken wings. I would drive 30 min just for them. They have a very extensive menu - there's something for everyone. Not too expensive either! Limited parking but wheelchair accessible. Fast service too.”
“Small cafe with many options and friendly service. Tasty noodles and wuhan style omelette. Went there twice with friends, who told me it’s authentic Wuhan flavour. I personally loved the cold green bean soup most for a hot summer day.”
“A small but beautiful shop. The handsome owner looks young, but he has more than ten years of experience as a barista. We came here to see what the differences are between different shops using Kokako because we were curious about an organic coffee brand called Kokako. Better me's coffee is very memorable. They understand coffee and are serious about making it. There are some simple meals, and they taste pretty good. Ube cookies are very interesting.”
“Absolutely fantastic coffee 11/10! Great value, wholesome, and tasty food options. The homemade cookies are a must try!”
“Everytimeq when I visit here always feels like home, friendly hospitality, great toasted sandwich and coffee. highly recommend.”
“100% Vegetarian! Adored this wee family run Persian Cafe! The atmosphere is so cozy. I had a solo work lunch here and ordered their Pirashki and a Napoleon. Pirashki is a Persian pastry! It’s a mini pie type dish filled with tasty lentils. The Napoleon is a cream and flaky pastry ‘cake’ slice! Very classic and it was delicious. I can’t wait to come back here to have a proper meal!”
“Amazing food! Great customer service! Will be returning!”
