Hands down the best laksa and roti in wellington. My family and I have been coming here for years, and it hits every time !!

I’ve been coming to Aunty Mena’s regularly for years and it never disappoints. Their wonton noodle soup is fantastic, the broth is so light, refreshing, and full of flavour, with perfectly cooked noodles, delicious wontons, and plenty of fresh vegetables, It’s a very comforting meal! The crispy fried wontons with a tangy sweet and sour dipping sauce are also really good too! The staff are always so lovely and welcoming, they even remember me and my order every time I come in, which makes it feel extra special. Aunty Mena’s is truly a gem and easily my favourite restaurant ever!

When I arrived at the restaurant early in the evening, several groups were already dining, and I was warmly greeted by the busy kitchen staff at the entrance. I considered ordering the Tom Yum noodle soup but was advised that it was quite spicy, so I opted for the Chicken Laksa and Mee Goreng instead. Although it was past typical mealtime hours, the restaurant remained bustling with a steady flow of customers. Thanks to the fast and efficient service, we didn’t have to wait long, and everything ran smoothly. The food was well-balanced β€” not overly seasoned, full of fresh vegetables, and very satisfying. While the restaurant is vegan and vegetarian, the alternative ingredients were thoughtfully chosen and complemented each dish perfectly. The overall cleanliness, including the restrooms, suggested that the kitchen is equally well-maintained. I would definitely return to try more of the menu.

Outstanding food, very fresh and so tasty. We had the dumplings, Laksa, aunty Mena special and Sago. Generous portions and very cheap. You need to pay cash, by debit or bank transfer. Creditcard and Paywave aren't supported.

Great option for vegetarian/vegan food lovers. Lots and lots of choices which can be ordered blindly. Excellent serving size too. The staff/owners and friendly and service is prompt and hot! They DO NOT accept credit card so carry cash!

Definitely delightful place to go for vegan food. We ordered Deep fried Wonton, Laska Chicken (Mock) and Nasi Lemak and were amazed by the taste and texture of meat (mock). We will surely come back to try other options on their menu. The price is reasonable with a generous portion. The service is ok for a casual-style restaurant, but if you're looking for a quiet and chill place to enjoy your food, this place is not the best choice.

Love to eat here when I’m in Wellington. So many vegan options it’s great. Tasty laksa and nasi goreng

Another Wellington institution, one of the best vegetarian/vegan place on the city. The dumplings laksa is absolutely incredible along side the rest of the menu. The stuff is very nice and friendly and the service is pretty fast from ordering to get the food. Great food for non vegetarian/vegan like me.

Whole place is vegan, fast turnover didn't have to wait to long for a table. Not fancy dining simple and great affordable food. Will be back to try more off the menu

TLDR: Good concept and menu, but food was bland and the restaurant was dirty. Service: the staff were nice, but clearly overwhelmed. Rather than seating less people, they filled every table and would turn the tables without even cleaning them between customers. Atmosphere: a fairly straight forward "hole-in-the-wall" which we are fine with as long as the food is immaculate. Unfortunately, without many other positives, it is just a bit run down and dirty restaurant. Food: the true disappointment was the food. With however many 4 and 5 star reviews, we really expected a showstopper in Wellington. While none of the dishes were gross, they all were just oily/greasy and didn't really taste like much. We eat a LOT of Asian food in pretty much every country we visit and I can't rank this anywhere close to the top. The springrolls were so oily, they were dripping from the inside which was not fresh. The dumplings unfortunately just tasted like flour as the filling was not seasoned. The satay "meat" was a good texture, but the "satay" sauce was definitely the oddest we've ever had in our travels. The rice goreng was very underseasoned. We are used to very flavorful goreng that kicks you in the face with spices. This was a VERY white, watered down version. The "spicy" soup was the best, but was just okay compared to other restaurants. Maybe it was a bad night, but we would not risk going back after our stomachs hurt that night. We never took the train to Flavortown, I think the train broke down outside of Wellington...
