Most amazing service and the best coffee I’ve had in a long time! Came back here every morning we could; definitely recommend if you’re cashing quality food and coffee.
Hands down the best carrot cake I’ve ever had—moist, full of flavour, and perfectly balanced. The service was fantastic too, with small touches like a slice of lemon in the water that really elevated the experience. The interior is beautifully done and has a unique vibe that sets it apart from all the other cookie-cutter cafés around Orewa. I’ll definitely be back with friends and family. Highly recommend!
This is the third time I have been here for lunch. On each occasion I have enjoyed the ambience of the outdoor setting (under an umbrella in the sunlight) and the quality of the food. I enjoyed it so much on the first two occasions, that when my wife started her holidays from work, I brought her here the following day. She went for the seafood basket and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the snapper and it was delicious. I happily recommend the Pinehouse cafe.
This was our second visit, following our dog walk, we had stopped in for coffee on our first visit and decided to stay for a big brekkie and eggs Benny with bacon. Both meals were beautiful, eggs Benny came with a lovely salad too. Coffee was great and served with iced lemon water. Just perfect. Relaxed with our dog and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Our second visit was just as good as our first visit. Lovely service, waitress delightful. There is also off street parking, which is handy, as Orewa can be busy. Definitely will be back.
Lovely spot, tasty cake and coffee, and really attentive service. Not a wide choice of food, think there is new ownership and they are just getting going. We sat outside, good shade from the trees, and our dogs were welcome, they brought out a water bowl for them. We will go back.
Cafe on Orewa beach closed on a Monday so went across the road to Pinehouse cafe. Owner came out with trays of ice water with lemon. Icecream amazing and servings in cones so generous a bit precarious to eat. Lovely 3 poached eggs on toast served posh restaurant style. Coffee as good as any we have had in Auckland. Great hot chocolate. Thoroughly recommend. Skip the cafe on the beach and go here.

NEW MANAGEMENT AND CHEF. TOTALLY DIFFERENT QUALITY OF FOOD, COMPARED TO SIX MONTHS AGO, 1000% IMPROVEMENT. GOOD QUALITY FOOD AT REASONABLE PRICES. GOOD, HONEST FOOD. PLENTY OF HANDY PARKING, DIRECTLY OPPOSITE THE SURF CLUB.
“Big” cornish pie for $14.50, is rediculous as it is a normal size for one person and only ate about half of it and binned the rest. Not up to standard The pastry not eatable. Only reason it was taken was that it was ordered by telephone. Will not visit the Cafe again. Gave one star as there is not space for zero.
Had the fish and chips, very lovely meals tasted great. Kind waitress.
