“This Starbucks location is a gem in the heart of Dunedin. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great spot to relax, work, or catch up with friends. The service is consistently excellent; the baristas are friendly, efficient, and always ready to make a great recommendation if you want to try something new. The coffee and beverages are standard Starbucks quality, which means reliably delicious and the selection of food items is solid for a quick snack or light breakfast. Whether you're looking for a quick takeaway coffee (especially for an extra hot cafe mocha) to start your day or a comfortable place to sit and stay a while, this location nails the balance. Highly recommended!”
“Fab food and great atmosphere, a+ service.”
“Love pasta? You will love this place (not to mention great coffee and delicious other food made on site ready to eat and served by top class staff and owners!!). You WON'T be disappointed . . . .”
The kitchen at Valley Lodge Bar & TAB takes a simple, bistro-style path and lets the food speak. Views add a quiet lift to the visit. Service stays present without fuss. Portions are generous yet well judged.
“Stayed here for many months while I worked in Dunedin and couldn't recommend enough. The staff Bianca and Mitz are so welcoming and really look after the guests! There's a bar downstairs with cheap drinks and good vibes too! Highly recommend :)”
Union Grill leans into a burger-led approach with no fuss. Pricing lines up with the offer. Orders move at a steady clip. Kūmara fries and sides add a tidy finish. Service stays present without fuss.

“Literally the YUMMIEST GF cheese scones ever!! I try stop here every weekend when I can now just to get a scone. Taken a few friends here who aren't gf and they say the scrolls are one of the nicest they have ever had!! Feels like you are entering someone's kitchen when you walk in , super homely authentic and such a lovely owner”
“The loveliest experience. Very nice staff and the food is delicious. $7 happy hour (5-7.30pm) beers and $12 cocktails too! I think it may be newer owners as the food is Indian and Pizza now which seems different to earlier reviews. They were also more than happy to make us a vegan meal. A must do if coming to Spark Arena. Well definitely be back”
“Fabulous Polynesian cuisine, affordable and fresh and so delicious. We had the roasted lamb flaps, turkey tails, and pig's head. It was ALL so good and the pig's head had such crispy skin while the tongue remained tender to the bite. Chop suey was lovely, too. Highly recommend! The service was also good and one of the staff kindly explained the dishes to us (we were new to Polynesian food). Hope to return for some salted beef and lu sipi and that tantalisingly golden giant doughnut ball.”
“Great stop on the motorway going north out of Auckland. Extremely spacious. Highly recommended”
“OMG, this place is absolutely fantastic! the staff are all so nice and positive. The food there is just scrumptious, and honestly you should defiantly go there. It's a great place for breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner. it takes 10-20 min for the food to be ready so no rush and if you always want a small desert or a small savory you could always do to the get-it-yourself food stale. honestly, I really think you should go if you haven't been there before. (PS, their drinks are good too, especially their coffee). all I have to say for the atmosphere is it's so clean and aesthetic. :D”
“Awesome place Friendly staff..Great Atmosphere and good Prices for Drinks and Food”
“I had the Big Kiwi breakfast for lunch, it was just delicious. The scrambled eggs was creamy, the tomato was charred cooked, bacon crispy, hash brown hot, soft inside and crispy outside, fried mushrooms an the sausage were tasty with bits of cheese in them, two slices of a type of bread and butter, washed down with english breakfast tea. Just thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband had just a pie and coke.”
