“Always helpful, friendly and can suggest what your looking.”
“One of my favorite thrift stores in Christchurch. They have a great selection of lots of things, especially larger items that other thrift stores might not have the space for. There are some clothes, but it's not as clothes-centric as other places.”
“These guys are very good operators. Went out of their way to get my product request to me before Xmas. Lovely professional and helpful staff. Would give the 10 stars if I could. Check this business out.”
“Awesome little shop. Great service. I also scored some awesome cards in the packs I opened. NO complaints from me! I will be back next time I am in Christchurch!”
“Great place to buy good quality second hand furniture. The staff are informative, friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable. Have bought a washing machine, fridge and lounge all at separate times and they are still all in good working condition. They offer delivery for $50, and he took our item into our house which was very handy. Won't go anywhere else”
“One of my favourite opportunity shops! Great quality stuff gets donated here, and the staff are wonderful people.”
“Very helpful staff at the crossing”
“I had a great customer experience at this Whitcoulls. I was approached and helped by a kind and non confronting male worker. We had an enriching conversation about book series and he recommended many to me which I will be checking out. Would highly reccomend!”
“Tidy store. Hardworking and friendly staff. Nice relaxed environment in this store”
“Lovely staff who always greet you with a smile! Was able to grab a lot of wool for a cheap price and the needles only cost me $1. Really like going here as prices are decent for an op shop and you know you're money is going to something that truly will make an impact. Prices are fair at this store and aren't inflated. Items in store rotate quickly so when you see something you like grab it quickly because chances are, it won't be there the next time you go in.”
“Small but very well stocked, Paper Plus Mosgiel has everything you need for business, school supplies, and arts and crafts. There’s also a solid selection of books, toys, games, and novelty gifts. Having the AA and NZ Post counters on-site is a real convenience, with services ranging from vehicle and driver’s licence renewals to sending or collecting parcels and letters. The location is easy to access with both street parking and car parks across and down the road. If you’re after the essentials rather than specialised services or niche items, this is the perfect stop. Definitely worth checking here first to see if they have what you need before making a trip into the city.”
“The Shelf is such a charming coffee shop! The decor is super cute, with unique and quirky items displayed on every shelf, giving it a cozy and fun vibe. They offer light snacks and some creative coffee options—like the sesame coffee, which I regret not trying. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, definitely a bit different from other coffee shops. It’s a lovely spot to hang out or even do some work on your laptop. As for the coffee itself, it’s good, but nothing extraordinary. Overall, it’s a great place to relax and enjoy the unique ambiance!”
“Friendly, good staff. Knowledgeable”
“Amazing staff (particularly Bruce and Angela )who are always super awesome to deal with and really appreciated Thank you :}”
“Very helpful staff and good price.”
“Very clean and tidy, well laid out and good quality stock.”
“Always like visiting! Nice and friendly and very accommodating!!”
“This is a high quality locally run store. If you want cheap cards then yes The Warehouse or the $2 shop are cheaper but if you want something special or that looks like you have put in that extra bit of thought then this is the place. Also acts as a post shop. Cute kids stuff, books, gifts and calendars as well.”
“Nice and tidy store Service always great Today was at the Lotto counter and great service by the staff member”
“I love reading books and this is a store with… BOOKS! Of course I’m going to give it five stars. No, but really not every book store is created equally and some can be quite bad, but this one has basically all the books you need. They’re grouped in categories to make it easier to find the one you want. When I came here to buy a book for someone, I asked a staff member where I could find it and they were really helpful, even explaining the difference between the original version and a young adults version of the book. Apart from books they also have a lot of other things like stationary, games and toys. It’s a great store for getting ideas for presents because it has such a variety of things.”
“Carmel College is really pog and a bunch of these comments are fake. Also no random comment, the school doesn't give you an eating disorder .-. But I see you in the comments Bella Dimes.”
“Upmarket Mercy Opp Shop on Ponsonby Rd. Friendly staff with good energy & helpful & cheerful . I always buy something everytime I go there . Parking outside , free for a quick visit. High end second hand items, not the cheapest but have a lot of decent quality items. Always have customers visiting & in a nice area surrounded by lots of shops .”
“Bruce quoted on and cleared my mother-in-laws retirement village unit. He came out of business hours, and his team were prompt, friendly and helpful.”
“Cosy bookshop with a surprising amount of products, not just books, also gifts and good artwork/office/school supply”
“Very nice store. Bought a blanket there without a price tag. At the checkout I was asked how much I'd feel comfortable paying. I said 20$ and the guy just went "No, it got stains on it, 10$". Very lovely store and staff :)”
“Very busy store, with numerous services in house. Including Post Shop, Lotto, Magazines and Books, numerous other options for sale as well”
“I'm very happy shopping this store. They are very nice and good price. I always come here to buy something. Thanks so much about everything!”
“Every nice shop. Clean, tidy and 2 lovely ladies on Monday. Worth going!”
“Always love coming in the staff are kind and helpful and the shop is cool and fun”
“What a super surprise to find in Port Chalmers. This would have to be the best children's book store that I have ever visited, and as a former school principal I've visited many. We left with a couple of joys for our grandson”
