The kitchen at The Press Club takes a breakfast-and-brunch path and lets the food speak. Desserts close the meal with familiar comfort. There’s room for a casual brunch with friends. Service stays present without fuss.
On the plate at Parcels Restaurant, the idea is grill-focused and well executed. Ribs and steaks come seasoned and tender. Team members keep things friendly and on task. Takeaway holds up well on the drive.
“This place is such a gem! The owner was so lovely and thankfully held the kitchen open later to accommodate our delayed flight. We had the best meal in Auckland! Awesome setting and great vibes.”
“If you're planning on hosting any event, I highly recommend Royal Hype! Food tasted amazing and this place is VERY generous with their food. Staff was extremely kind and nice and were always keen to go above and beyond (they always offered to help even though they really.didnt have to). Everyone was so accommodating and it created an amazing atmosphere for my guests. By far the best venue I have ever booked. Everything was easy and smooth, truly a gem for huge celebrations! My party had 70 guests, but could accommodate over 100 guests depending on how you handle the seating plans.”
On the plate at Rosie O'Grady's Napier, the idea is burger-led and well executed. A family‑friendly feel comes through naturally. Front‑of‑house runs with calm, helpful energy. Combinations read bold but stay balanced.
Futomaki Town runs with a simple, bistro-style menu and a relaxed feel. Service stays present without fuss. A sensible spend for the quality. Plates offer plenty without tipping heavy. Orders move at...
“So much better done up Wish there was after work drink specials”
“Thanks so much for a fantastic night on Saturday night! We booked the Poplar Social club for a birthday party, and it was great! Sarah was wonderful to deal with before the event, helpful and professional with great suggestions, and we felt organised and in control. The night went completely to plan, including timing for all the food, and Adam was absolutely fantastic behind the bar and helped make it such a great night. Thanks so much guys, it was awesome”
“Great food, can get very busy. Good vegan options.”
“We lovd it. Excellent experience. Remember us a travel in Edinburgh! Why the scottish people always eat nachos? We like it!”
“I love this place. It's been a few years since I stayed, and wow! The refurbishment of the rooms are incredible. It's the cleanest newest tastefully designed decor I have experienced in a long time.”
“We have visited PINS 10 pin bowling many times. Always friendly staff who are knowledgeable and helpful. Our most recent visit was on fathers say 2025, I think they let me win! Haha. We had the most enjoyable time and everyone was happy, the refreshments were delicious and prices are reasonable! I would recommend a visit to PINS 10 pin bowling on Lincoln rd Henderson To any one wanting a nice family enjoyable fun time! Arthur C. Charlton west Auckland NZ”
“This place is no longer Williams Eatery - it’s now Bowler! They offer a fantastic selection of bowls, letting you choose from chicken, beef, or salmon, with bases of either brown rice, salad, or a mix of both. There are plenty of healthy options to enjoy here. I visited Bowler with my colleagues to check out the new spot, and it didn’t disappoint. The experience was wonderful! The staff were friendly and personally called out our names from the counter when our bowls were ready. It got quite busy during lunchtime, but at $17.90 per bowl, the price felt reasonable and well worth it. So far, I’ve tried the Free-Range Chicken Bowl (No. 1) and the Mt. Cook Salmon Bowl (No. 4). Both were absolutely delicious! The brown rice base is perfect if you’re looking for a more filling meal. The bowls focus on highlighting the natural flavours of the ingredients, with no heavy sauces - just fresh, wholesome goodness. I enjoyed Williams, and now I am loving Bowler too. I’ll definitely be coming here more often for lunch. Highly recommended!”
“Slow Lane: oh, my goodness - incredible! Apparently they were understaffed when we visited (during rush hour) but their customer service did not slow/suffer at all. Amazing, friendly service. Decent sized, tasty meals. We will definitely go again!”
“We had the most fantastic experience at Mudbrick - I highly recommend visiting! Brooke did our tasting, she was so friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel very comfortable. The wine was absolutely delicious (we went for the “Waiheke Tasting” and we loved all four of the wines). We sat outside, the views were incredible across the island and Auckland in the background. The waiting staff were friendly and the food was absolutely delicious and so aesthetically pleasing. The foccacia was the best I’ve ever tasted!”
“Such a gem! One of the best meals we had in NZ. The ceviche will change your life. We were basically licking the plate. Cocktails were fantastic. Doesn’t feel as touristy as other spots on the island which is nice as well. We were only stopping in for a snack and it was so good we ended up doing full blown dinner here. View of the ocean down the road from outdoor seating. Thank you to the chefs and wait staff for a wonderful meal and time!!!”
“Went to Gusto Italiano not knowing what to expect which ended up being a great decision last night. Our dinner the seafood spaghetti, chicken breast with vegetables & chicken fettuccine all amazing. The service from Milan & Armando was equally great. Definitely will return and thinking about ordering pizza & lasagne for tonight.”
“This is probably one of my go-to Italian spots in NewMarket. The staff are incredibly friendly and super helpful at recommending dishes to try. The food is always super fresh and flavoursome, and the great atmosphere really adds to the overall experience. The price point is average for the city, but with the quality of the ingredients I would definately say it's good value for money.”
“Ver nice experience in Taiko Kingsland. Sashimi is fresh and the portion is great. The prawn on the hot plate tastes very good!! The mayo sauce melts in the mouth with tender prawns… a must try dish here!!”
“Surprised how good the food was. Great chef, friendly vibes, and great views. We went during the day but will most definitely come back to for the evening menu!”
“It was pretty quiet when we went on Sat. But nice open spaces and amazing pizza, cocktail was good too.”
“Really great pool hall, extremely well priced to play pool, the food is a bit on the pricier side, but it is really high quality and tasty. Had the $31 burger which was never going to be the best value, but it was very nice. Had the ribs last time and the pizza too, all very nice. Some of the best thick cut fries I’ve had. Really great place, a local favourite.”
“This place has a very nice aura and relax feel. Meat was fresh and delicious, will definitely be back again. The skewers were yummy and large portions, enough for two!”
“Love love love the Huapai tavern! The bar staff are friendly and it feels like a home away from home, live bands on a Sunday and friendly locals make this one of the best places I have been to! Highly recommend giving the Hua a go!”
“The easiest 5 stars I have ever given. Our jaws dropped upon seeing and tasting both our mains (lamb rump and pork belly) and desserts (apple crumble and brownie sundae). The food and service far exceeded our expectations. Empire Tavern is part of the Star Group, and you can get great deals like the Monday 2for1 mains we used simply by downloading their app. However, my friend and I would happily pay full price for these mains in future, and we decided to order dessert based on their quality and were so glad we did. I can't think of a single thing that could be improved. Thank you to the waitstaff and kitchen team who made our night one to remember and hopefully repeat again soon! Everyone should try this surprising gem in the CBD, which had a lovely positive and peaceful vibe on a Monday evening and no doubt has something great to offer any night of the week.”
“Nice veg options and amazing cocktails to try and amazing staff. I will recommend to others too”
“How amazing to find such high quality legitimate Delicious pizza in Auckland. Last time I had a good pizza like that was in Italy ! Thank you Umu. Great Pizza. Highly recommended & Definitely will come back again soon !”
“Thanks to the legends at Morningside Tavern. Me and two other mates held a shared birthday event with apx 55 people and it couldn't have gone better. Despite some initial miscommunication (from us), the team went above and beyond to accommodate us. Food and service was excellent, venue is stunning. I highly recommend this venue to anyone wanting to host a function. (very reasonable minimum spend also). Thanks team!”
“Great selection of fresh delicious beer. Burgers very impressive. The loaded waffle fries were great, but did have a sweetness and a slight cinnamon spice. Was a little unusual but still good.”
“We recently went to Goodie Brothers in Botany and had such a great time that it deserves a proper shout-out. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and lively, with a nice mix of modern décor and a relaxed, casual vibe that makes you want to stay a while. We started with the margarita pizza, which came out with a beautiful golden crust that had the perfect crunch on the outside and a soft, chewy bite inside. The tomato sauce tasted fresh and vibrant, and the mozzarella was melted evenly across the base with just the right balance of cheese and herbs so it wasn’t too heavy but still full of flavor. The fettuccine pasta followed and was just as impressive, with perfectly cooked al dente noodles coated in a creamy, well-seasoned sauce that felt indulgent without being overly rich, and the portion size was generous enough to share or enjoy on its own as a main. For dessert, we couldn’t resist the tiramisu, which ended up being one of the highlights of the night — light, airy layers of sponge soaked with just enough coffee, topped with creamy mascarpone and a dusting of cocoa that tied everything together beautifully. Alongside all this, we had a few drinks that were made well and complemented the food nicely, and throughout the evening the staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care that everyone was enjoying themselves. It’s clear the team takes pride in both their food and service, which really makes a difference. Goodie Brothers feels like the kind of place where you can go for a casual catch-up with friends, a relaxed date night, or even just to treat yourself to a good meal, and leave satisfied every time. We’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a spot in Botany with great food, good drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere.”
