Found this place a few hours after arriving in Auckland. Good atmosphere and background music. Nachos are great, very generous portions, excellent service and advice from Britney, thanks. Good special offers and reward scheme. Will certainly be back during our tour of New Zealand.
Walked in late off the street to enquire if dinner was still a possibility. No problem at all. We were mightily impressed with the food: prompt, hot, very tasty. The chicken schnitzel was perfection at 14" long.
The staff were welcoming and the service was great. I appreciated the detailed explanation of the day's special. The food was both tasty and satisfying, with good quality and generous portions. A great dining experience overall!
The easiest 5 stars I have ever given. Our jaws dropped upon seeing and tasting both our mains (lamb rump and pork belly) and desserts (apple crumble and brownie sundae). The food and service far exceeded our expectations. Empire Tavern is part of the Star Group, and you can get great deals like the Monday 2for1 mains we used simply by downloading their app. However, my friend and I would happily pay full price for these mains in future, and we decided to order dessert based on their quality and were so glad we did. I can't think of a single thing that could be improved. Thank you to the waitstaff and kitchen team who made our night one to remember and hopefully repeat again soon! Everyone should try this surprising gem in the CBD, which had a lovely positive and peaceful vibe on a Monday evening and no doubt has something great to offer any night of the week.
Went on a Wednesday night for a meal .Very quiet not a lot of patrons about. Ordered the Scotch fillet pepper gravy chips and slaw . Nicely cooked steak adequate portion size.
Small pub in a great central location. Nice atmosphere with dark timber and red leather studded booth seating. Enjoyed a prawn cocktail, but unfortunately I didn't have time for anything else on the menu. I walk past often and love the music they play.
Had breakfast here and they did not disappoint. The meal was delicious and coffee was well made. Service was also very friendly and prompt. I got the big breakfast and felt the serving was a good size and fulled me up well. Highly recommend this place!
Had a wonderfully cooked eye fillet steak for $30. Great value. Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff
Had lunch here today. Ordered 2 steak specials. Asked to swap chips for vegetables but refused as they don't change specials. It came with very salty coleslaw. My steak was suppose to be med/well but it was rare & grissly so left most of it. Ordered a soda water which was all ice with 3 mouthfuls of soda water. What a waste of money. The guy at the bar said sorry about steak but that was it. Much better pubs to eat in nearby.
