Went for Tuesday steak night with a friend visiting from the UK. Friendly helpful staff, great service and relaxed atmosphere. The Chef did an amazing steak - cooked perfectly, tender, juicy and very tasty. Perfect portion size and excellent value for money. Will definitely be going again!

The Portland Public House is busy as hell, but before a rugby match that’s only to be expected. Even with the crowds, the staff manage things well and it’s never difficult to get served. The beer selection is excellent, and the way they’ve brought new life to this historic hulk of a building is genuinely impressive. A proper pre-match institution.
Happy hour!!! Sunday! It was quiet, a cold evening. Great drinks and delicious burgers! Fries were good too. Affordable! Friendly staff. Clean toilets.
I came here for my birthday with 2 people that I care about, the food was fantastic, the service was amazing and the staff are awesome. This is an exceptional place in Kingsland, close to the bus stop, train station, Eden Park with ample down a nearby side street. I highly recommend this place to anyone local or visiting the area.
JULY 2023 A great place to visit after a sports event at Eden Park. The place was certainly busy after an International Soccer event and, the staff we working well to satisfy everyone's needs. The Garden Bar at the rear was very busy too. I would visit this Public House again just for the atmosphere. Well done to everyone on such a busy day. It's one of the closest bars to Eden Park.
Had a fantastic time at the open mic night! Real good vibes, performances and crowd! Highly recommended! I didn't eat this time but the menu looked great too
The $8 burgers (+ drink) are still a solid deal. Happy with my chicken one. Service is fine. Would love a working lock in the women's bathroom. All in all a good time.
