“We had a wonderful three day stay. The level of detail is superb - Dietske refreshed our room twice a day and Gary had the most thoughtful and exquisitely prepared meals. They had so many good recommendations for us - ranging from beachside fish and chips to high end dinners and wineries! We were delighted by it all and found the stay warm, hospitable, comfortable, and deluxe. Booking a dinner with Gary is a must - so fresh, local, and a variety of flavors and tastes! The inn itself is small (2 rooms) so it’s a best fit for people looking to engage w the hosts and learn about the local food and culture through them.”

“Was booked into this place for the first time and omg, what a pleasant surprise. Owner operated, so attention to detail and great customer service. Rooms were perfctly clean and well serviced. Sky TV a bonus. Day 2 was super hot so had a quick dip ⁹in the salt pool. Highly recommend a swim and pool towels are provided free. Loads of parking. Close to town. Had the breakfast on my last morning and it was huge, you'd be hard pressed to beat that and the price. Well deserved 5 stars... will definitely return.”

“Spent 5 weeks there and was a very pleasant stay. Place has very positive vibe and feel more like a big campground with travellers from all over the world than classic hostel. Met great people here and made good memories. John, the owner, was always willing to help and provide advice, regardless time of the day. Always had variety of jobs to provide, found me one just few days after my arrival. If you are looking for something more than just accommodation this is the place you wanna stay.”

“Stayed one night. Clean tidy room. Only issue is the walls/doors arent very sound proof. Could hear the neighbour's talking outside in their car which was parked right outside my door. They weren't talking very loud but could still hear them.”

“Both the owners and cleaning staff were polite and friendly. While I didn’t use the pool it was clean and looked like it was well maintained. Shower pressure was good and in our room the bathroom had plenty of space. Extra pillows were in the room and our towels were replaced regularly. Top of the list for future visits to Hastings.”

Accessing the room was seamless with an email on everything I needed to know (including wifi) sent to me the day of my check in. “Chambourcin Cottage - what a wonderful place. So well located - nestled in it's own vineyard, and then surrounded by many other beautiful vineyards, as close as a walk or cycle away. Kim and Bruce were so welcoming, from the first email interaction, and were extremely generous with local knowledge of local vineyards and restaurants. The cottage itself is stylishly appointed, with no detail overlooked. The most beautiful accommodation on our North Island holiday. A real find!”

“This was an amazing stay for 3 nights in Rose. The rooms are clean and warm, also a well kitted full kitchen. The heated floors in the toilet were a really nice surprise. Privacy was something i wanted and it truely delivered. Amazing, we will be coming back!”

“This resort has both accommodation and camp sites. It's so far about the normal It's unbelievable. Amazingly luxurious glamping tents, rooms with every amenity and gorgeous facilities. There are lounges and a heated swimming pool with spa bath, a sauna and I've bath in the ample landscaped grounds, and all next door to the boutique 'village' of Havelock North.”

“Absolutely beautiful homestay to stay in. We arrived late but it was no problem as we were given the self check in instructions. Everything there that you could possibly need. Lovely having a TV in the room too. Comfortable bed, quiet & relaxing. Fully equipped kitchen made it so easy for us to have breakfast, which of course we brought with us. Would so recommend this homestay. And we will definitely come back x thank you so much”

“Absolutely wonderful people, the rooms are very clean and the cleaning staff do an excellent job. Only 1 tiny thing, We did ask them not to clean until we were leaving (2 night stay) but they came in anyway. They didn't touch any of our things apart from to make the bed that we left clean clothes strewn over. Very pleased with our stay.”

I might add after our stay we left for Adelaide where we stayed in a five star for a few nights. They did not have great service or comfy beds. “I have stayed there with my husband on 3 separate occasions and enjoyed the Tranquillity and the views. It has been a pleasure to drive up and down the tree lined driveway - Park into a courtyard which has the entrance to your own 1st floor spacious apartment. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, the pheasant call woke us in the morning to beautiful Hawkes Bay weather. Then we packed the car to go trout fishing on the nearby rivers. A day of golf, then unfortunately we had to go home. Each trip being much of the same routine. The hosts always ensure your needs are satisfied, lovely couple.”
