“This place is unique like no other. Margie is so lovely, entertaining and such a brilliant character and host that I cant remotely relate to the previous review left on google in any way whatsoever. It must be an airbnb thing? The homestead has been operating as a private residence for such a long period of time and closed to nightly stays that I can only guess that the reviewer is abusing the privilege, of the ability to leave a false and malicious statement, for some nefarious reason. Oh well perhaps google should only accept reviews with proof of purchase. This place oozes charm is incredibly welcoming and was a total pleasure to stay in.”

“The owners are SO nice ! Very accommodating with last minute reservations and anything else we needed. Quick responses. It is about 10 min from town, but the remoteness is peaceful and there are trails in walking distance. If you want a quiet getaway this is it ! Very clean as well.”

“Very nice receptionist who allowed me to check in before the norm check in time and specifically did up the bed to accommodate me. Cheers for that. Nicely done up bathroom which is impressive. So far the only bathroom with heating rod to keep the hand towels dry. Rooms are spacious w a mobile heater which warm up the room. Lots of storage beneath, on the side and a panel inside the pod to keep some necessities. Extra storage near the receptionist upon request. Super impressed by the Japanese receptionist who even help carry luggage to the room.”

“This is an over-due review; because, we did not find out about B&B Homestay online. We were given their contact information from a friend of theirs who ran a local hotel. We came into town the night of the Pink concert, and there were no rooms available in the town. We called, and Brenda hastily got our accommodations ready while we had a lovely dinner at a restaurant she recommended. Brenda and Bill, thank you for coming to our rescue, providing a comfortable room, a delicious breakfast, and a relaxing soak in your hottub at sunset. “A comfortable, well equipped 2-bedroom unit underneath the main house. Full kitchen and also has washing machine and dryer. The steps down from the street to the unit are manageable with luggage. However, the unit doesn't claim to be nor is it set up for people with physical disabilities and the steps might be problematic for that situation. The unit is well-located high just a 2-minute drive down the hill to the Dunedin CBD. But if you don't have a car, be prepared for a steep 10-15 minute walk back up the hill.”
