“We had a powered site for two nights (early October 2025). The bathrooms are very clean & tidy (plenty of toilets and showers). And there's a large kitchen, with a seated dining area. The hosts are very nice. Oh, the location is just behind the beach. And the caravan park is perfectly located = short 8min drive to the city (easiest parking for motorhomes is directly across the train tracks, from the Dunedin train station). It's a quick walk up over the tracks to access the train station AND the city centre. And 30min north-east of the caravan park is the Albatross Centre (worth going to). There's a "coastal route" and a "plateau route" = both are the MOST scenic drives you shall ever do in your life.”

“Really great customer service. The high winds took out the power to the petrol station so I returned it unfilled, then the wife left her phone in the car. We only noticed once we were at the gate. The young lady ran to the car and got the phone through customs to us and didn't charge us the service fee to fill up as it wasn't our fault. Thanks so much. The car was also nice and easy airport parking”

“I have placed my travel requirements/arrangements with Brooker Travel a considerable number of times (in excess of 20) since first doing so in 1977 - mostly international, but occasionally domestic. In that time I have experienced only one organisational problem, and it was unclear whether it originated with the travel agent of the airline. Nevertheless it was resolved by Brooker by telephone within half an hour, and I was able to continue my journey as scheduled. Over the years of my acquaintance with Booker I have been treated unfailing courtesy and patience; many times various staff have 'gone the extra mile' to satisfy my requests and to tailor my travel according to my needs. I heartily recommend this travel agency to any intending traveller. Robin Marks.”

“This is an over-due review; because, we did not find out about B&B Homestay online. We were given their contact information from a friend of theirs who ran a local hotel. We came into town the night of the Pink concert, and there were no rooms available in the town. We called, and Brenda hastily got our accommodations ready while we had a lovely dinner at a restaurant she recommended. Brenda and Bill, thank you for coming to our rescue, providing a comfortable room, a delicious breakfast, and a relaxing soak in your hottub at sunset. “Highly recommended! We had Paul and his team sell our family home recently and we had a really great experience. Paul knows his stuff and is very thorough with the details. He quickly became like a friend of the family with our 5-year-old asking, "When is Paul coming to visit!?" Selling and buying your next home (especially with young children) can be a very stressful time but we found him very calm and collected. He broke each step down and told us to take each step as it came. We got a very thorough appraisal and a personalised booklet which explained the whole process, and with so much information to process it was great to look back on if needed. Paul was always at the end of the phone if we needed him and took the time to visit and meet with us when there was a lot of info to go over. We missed out on the home we originally went on the market for, and it was particularly comforting that he took the time to give us this news in person. His advice and confidence kept us steady, and we ended up finding our dream home. We're so glad we didn't give up at the first hurdle! “I had the pleasure of staying at the Chalet Backpackers for some months a few years ago. My stay left such an impression that I felt compelled to write this review. Met loads of awesome people and wow what an interesting and beautiful building! The owner Richard and administrator Chris were not only friendly and but also great to chat with. I felt thoroughly comfortable and entertained throughout my stay. All in all I couldn't recommend Chalet Backpackers more highly and on my next trip to Dunedin I'll surely spend some more time there :)”
