    Im not sure how this place every gained a 4 star review. From the moment we arrived it looked dirty. We were in an upstairs Unit with a shared front door, the carpets were filthy and had stains all over them the walls were covered in dirty marks, the Unit itself also had filthy carpets, the toilet seat was stained yellow, the vanity sink had stains in it and the tap was very loose. It was old, tired and dirty, the bottom sheet on the bed was velvet and very hot and the pillows flat. It made our stay in Dunedin very disappointing and we could not wait to leave there.

    Mistakes happen β€” but decent businesses know how to handle them. This one clearly doesn’t. Scored 1.0 1.0 Booked two rooms and paid in full, only to realise less than an hour later that my wife had already made a separate booking elsewhere. I called the motel immediately to explain the honest mistake and request a refund β€” even a partial one β€” but they flatly refused. No understanding, no flexibility, no interest in doing the right thing. For a business that relies on customer service, this was a complete failure. I will never book here again, and I’d strongly advise others to think twice before giving them your money. Mistakes happen β€” but decent businesses know how to handle them. This one clearly doesn’t.

    Room was spacious and cheaper than most other accomodations, but the toilet door didn't shut properly and Wifi was horrible. Ended up using data for most of my stay. Kind of nonexistent service. (You have to call them otherwise there's no room service) Location is pretty good within walking distance to city centre.

    This place is very good value for money. The rooms were comfortable, quiet, clean, warm, and had kitchenette essentials. The bed was really really comfortable. I also found t the staff/owners(?) really friendly and helpful. This has been a last minute booking for us as we were unexpectedly having to stay in Dunedin due to a hospital admission, and getting the room was very easy We may have to be back and this is where we'll be staying in future.

    First time staying here, and was so happy with our stay. Two bedroom apartment was perfect for our stay, plenty of room to relax. Location is great, easy walk to Forsyth Barr through the University and close to lots of food options.

    I have been coming to regal court for a decade now , they have new owners , who seem very nice , but what I wasn't happy was the rooms are not very clean , the spa bath was slippery and i fall over, no handles to hold onto in shower , you had to use your own Netflix on the tv, so you really only had the normal channels, the rooms are not serviced, and the office isn't monitored, as they run other motels... these motels need a good overhaul to get up to standed. ..

    We moved in room 15. There was a lounge with double bed and a bedroom with single and double beds. So - it was 5 adults of us. But .... it was 3 chairs, 3 mugs, 3 plates etc. So we had hot drink in turn and shared plates. No bath towels in the room, in reception they were given as many as number of visitors. The box with tissues was empty. Apart of it the electric blanket didnt work on a bed in lounge. When I tried to say about it to owner and mentioned about discount she got angry and rude. She said discount is impossible. I offer to stay in room longer instead, what turned out impossible as well. All my attempts to ask why in room 5 sleeping spots and everything for 3 guests, were interrupted, she hardly listened and talked about her stuff. The owner offered me to stay in different motel next time and kicked me out of reception saying she had lots to do. Its not the way the management has to deal with clients. And we will never stay in this motel any more.

    Too noisy with music playing late into the morning. Carpark so crowded you couldn't move around. Need to get back early evening to get a park.

    Booked this motel as advertised s being an ASURE Group motel. However, seemingly it isn’t…the female owner refused to stamp our ASURE loyalty card for our 2 night stay and quickly whipped out a $10 note from a drawer and handed it over to us!!! We were travelling with UK visitors. From the outset there were booking issues with the owner insisting we book a one bedroom unit with second bed in the living room, rather than the two bedroom unit we requested. Finally she agreed, after several phone calls and txt messages, to book us into the two bedroom unit. This interaction, further complicated by language difficulty, should have raised alarm bells about this accomodation! On arrival we noted the unkempt appearance of the facility, with accumulated leaves and weeds growing around the carpark/courtyard area. The unit was dated, drab and in places in disrepair. Not a cushion or picture, no colour. The unit, especially bathroom, in need of major refurbishment. Windows were dirty- bird poo splashed down the outside and children’s sticky food finger marks smeared over the inside. The view from the bedrooms was of debris and overgrown vegetation up to the windows. Kitchen drawers and cupboards were in disarray with equipment scattered around in no order whatsoever. The unit had a nasty smell that penetrated into our clothing. The one redeeming factor was.that the beds were clean and comfortable! Service was almost non existent to the extent that we had to drop our used towels to the laundry and pick up clean ones. The major issue for us in this whole situation is that we booked what we believed was a facility in the ASURE group, therefore expecting to find the good standard of accommodation that we’ve always experienced in this group. We were highly embarrassed to be subjecting our UK guests to such substandard facilities. We suspect that this accommodation has been part of ASURE group but is no longer due to not being up to the required standard. If this is the case then this motel’s advertising under ASURE is fraudulent. Our email of complaint to the ASURE group has not yet been responded to.

    Owner managed motel so you can expect good service and will accomodate your requests. Managed to get a interconnecting room which was good for our family. Kitchen was well stocked with what we needed and rooms were pleasantly clean
