   We have been using Allandale Kennels for several years, but over the Christmas period needed to put our dogs in for nearly 3 weeks. We were a bit nervous as one of our dogs is very anxious, but we didn't need to worry, they came home healthy and very happy. And this was confirmed when we returned them for a weekend stay and they were both excited to see the staff! Our anxious girl we boarded in the "quite" area, which worked very well for her. We give the team 10/10, their job isn't easy, but they go out of their way to care and it is very appreciated. Thank you.

   Our dog was well looked after over a busy period. She was happy and even put on a bit of weight, so must have loved their food. They were the only kennels that responded to my initial enquiry and booking our dog in was quick and easy.

   I was away for the whole month of May and I booked my cat to Allandale. I was very hesitant at first to leave my cat for the first time in a cattery. When I came back, my cat was so happy to be home. I believe he was treated well and the staff said my cat was very friendly which is great. He came back home healthy and happy after 20 odd days. They don’t send daily updates but I sent them an email twice during my time away to ask if my cat was ok and they took the time to reply. I appreciate the experience and will book again for my other holidays.

   Midnight came home with abrasion/skin peeled off nose. Was not informed about his injury during 4 day stay. Injury was only addressed when asked about it. Paul said it “may have been because of the dog putting his nose through the wire” , that it is a common reason why dogs go home with nose injuries and could not confirm when it exactly happened. This highlights that the dogs are not watched to the point of bloody injuries and also that no alternative has been put in place to avoid such injuries. Paul apologised and reassured me that him and his staff will try harder in the future. Wasn’t going to leave a review until I right after found a swollen rash under Midnight’s tail. Nose is now healing but natural color of nose skin will never come back. So upsetting. Midnight has never come home with injuries or issues from any other kennels he’s stayed at (3 different ones across South Island). Had given them this second chance due to new ownership despite Midnight coming home vomitting for a whole day years ago. Regrets.

   This is where we take our dog and she is so happy to go there when needed and all the staff are lovely. The 1st time she was a bit anxious but since then she's been fine and I always get lovely feedback about ber stay.

   My dog stayed here recently and it was the first time that I had left him at a kennels in Dunedin, or New Zealand for that matter. It was super hard for me to leave my dog but Paul was amazing, dealing with all my queries and concerns and a few different phone calls. Buster went well and I am so happy to have found somewhere that I have confidence to leave him.

   Very upsetting to pick up my dog after 6 nights to find her large (Vinyl covered) bed completely saturated through *in urine*. Horrible to think she had to sleep on that. She's a 6yr old lab who is happy, healthy and loves the kennels. She was obviously not let out much. I hope the owner sees this and ensures staffing is adequate in future, as it sounds like that could have been part of the issue over xmas.
