Pet hotel in Christchurch

“I stayed in November 2024 for 2 days with a late check out. I wanted to give this motel a review as I found the staff extremely helpful as it was my first time in Christchurch. I want to commend the staff making our stay great. The location is fantastic - great bus routes to airport, city and beyond and the Riccarton Mall literally across the road. Being self contained and having a mall across the road made it easy to get supplies to cook food etc. I really recommend Dean Bush Motel - ring them instead of going thru a book app to get the best deal.”

“Just want to thank the lovely family who manage the Vita Nova Motel for a great stay. We landed at midnight and we were able to arrange a late checkin. The unit was really clean, bed was so comfortable, Netflix to chill out at night, had all the necessary amenities and great service. Daily house keeping was excellent, she was thorough and showed great attention to detail. Laundry facilities were useful. Location was great, central to everything. Would definitely stay again. “Where do I start to recommend this kennel. This is the best of the best - simply because the owner and her trusted staff truly KNOW animals. They are passionate, observant, and they are so committed to taking the best care of the pets entrusted into their care using a skill-set you rarely find. They also uncover all their personality traits, which proves how much notice they do take. I had two of my dogs in there this week and Robyn had noticed a touch of aggression from my Jack to my Kelpie, which I had noticed at the same time of day only once before. She was right on to it, and separated them without worrying me. But, she did tell me when I picked them up and I immediately remembered I'd noticed it too once myself, but I thought perhaps it was a one-off thing. So, now I'm going to be watching that narky little Jack closer at home. I can't stress how much trust we put in the people who care for our pets. Make sure you choose wisely, and if you're asking me, I'd say Dentese every day of the week. Thank you.”

“Great facility and our cat came back happy and well. Deborah was great to deal with. We had been struggling to secure a cattery over Easter and Deborah let us know when she had a cancellation and was able to take our pet on short notice. She was also great about extending his planned stay and was clear on communication feeding information and pick up/drop off. Will definitely use in the future”

“The hostess was very accommodating and friendly. The rooms were clean and decorated well. The whole farm setting complete with alpacas and horses was fantastic. Convenient location close to the airport too. I highly recommend staying here.”

“I drive my cats out here from North New Brighton because the gardens & landscaping they have built around the cattery is beautiful, and it makes me feel good because it's like a little cat resort. Their comms are great, friendly people, and the hygiene standard is top-notch, as is their professionalism. Highly recommend.”

“Had a wonderful tour with Chris last Sunday. Chris is a very kind and handsome person who loves animals and care of them a lot. It was definitely one of the highlights of my trip with my family in CHC. I'm happy to learn about farm life and the stories of the animals, and we love the kune kune Pig -smile mouth!”

“Had a fabulous stay here. Very comfortable and clean room, with all necessary amenities provided. Fantastic spot right next to the cafe and Diamond Harbour eatery, with easy access to the ferry and lots of walking tracks. Really loved being able to have our dog stay with us too. “Whilst attending my daughter's wedding celebrations, I booked three rooms, for three nights, for my family members travelling from Melbourne. I cannot speak highly enough of our hosts Frank and Jenny, who took us into and shared their home with us. The location is within walking distance of the village of Lyttleton and its services. Our hosts were attentive, friendly and supportive, but, not intrusive. Their rooms were a delight, comfortable, spacious and serviced daily, unless one signed that it was not necessary. Ensuites, heated towel racks, room heaters ensured a comfortable stay. The views over Lyttleton Harbour are breathtaking, complemented by the external open patio, complete with outdoor furniture and barbecue for guests to relax and enjoy. Complimentary cereals, yogurts, fruit, tea and coffees ensure a relaxing start to the day. Frank and Jenny are approachable, friendly and helpful, we enjoyed our stay and commend you to them when next you visit Christchurch or Lyttleton areas.”

“Lovely room, great dining area, lots of beautiful artwork, and nice hosts. Smallest sink ever in the room like so many other places in NZ. Nice shower though.”

“I can not recommend Cheryl high enough, we had our 3 babies with her over Christmas just been (2023) for a week. Due to no fault of her own (our vet being lazy) our 11 month old kitten fell very ill, Cheryl went above and beyond and did everything she could for our precious peach. If you want to take your cats to someone who cares, you can’t get any better than Cheryl at 4 paws”

“Kathy, Grant, and Gretel are such warm and inviting hosts that you'll forget you aren't home.... that is, if you have someone at home who prepares a delicious breakfast for you while you relax! The property is gorgeous, with a blend of English garden and natural, New Zealand landscape. The location is a great balance of proximity to shopping and attractions while maintaining a private, rural feel. Highly recommend!”

Warm comfortable suite with everything we needed for a 5 day staycation. Beautiful building and lively atmosphere out front was always a great welcome home.
