Lovely place to spend some days with lots of activities in the area like the ferry to Lyttelton and lots of walking tracks. Clean, well equipped room, comfortable bed and luxury bathroom. Great view from front terras!!
A truly wonderful place! I could not recommend it more highly. The view from the room was beautiful, and Rodney and Ann were so welcoming and kind. My partner and I snuck away for a night at Taimana Boutique Motel in Diamond Harbour, and it was exactly what we needed. Only 45 minutes from Christchurch, but it feels like you’ve stepped into a whole other world — peaceful, scenic, and no traffic in sight (bliss!). There’s a beautiful coastal walk with views toward the heads, and right next door is the Soulful Coffee Shop. That’s where you’ll likely bump into Rodney and Ann — local legends who seem to know everyone, everything, and possibly even the weather forecast better than your phone. You’ll get a warm coffee and maybe a warmer welcome. The team at Soulful serve genuinely great coffee and good vibes all round. As for the motel — it was awesome. The rooms were cute, clean, and cozy — the kind of place where you want to curl up, sip something warm, and forget about your to-do list. Highly recommend for a winter reset or a sneaky weekend away. We’ll definitely be back!
We really enjoyed our stay at Taimana Motel. The big open windows with views of Lyttleton Harbour were a personal favourite. The spacious, tiled bathroom was very nice, and the kitchenette was well-equipped with everything we needed. The views and nearby walks are really convenient. I would completely recommend this stay!
Had a fabulous stay here. Very comfortable and clean room, with all necessary amenities provided. Fantastic spot right next to the cafe and Diamond Harbour eatery, with easy access to the ferry and lots of walking tracks. Really loved being able to have our dog stay with us too. We had a very relaxing time here. The room had everything we needed & more. Ann & Rodney where great and very hospitable. Will be our first choice for accommodation when we are next in the area. Would recommend.
This new Boutique Motel situated in the beautiful Diamond Harbour area is a much needed asset for Banks Peninsula. We booked both rooms late last year prior to opening and they held our reservation for us with clear and responsive communication between first contact and during our stay. Our experience that we had at Taimana was better that what I have experienced in some top hotel brands around the world. We had an amazing experience staying with Rodney and Ann. We were attending a celebration over at Port Levy over the Easter Weekend and Rodney and Ann contacted us early to say the rooms were available 5 hours before the standard check-in which helped us out so we did not have to leave the function to come back at 2pm to sort out our stay. The level of detail and customer focus which our hosts have exceeded our expectation offering transport to and from the function if we planned to drink, and were attentive to every and any need that we had. I really liked the sweet touch of the hosts sneaking an Easter egg into each of our room for us to enjoy was a brilliant personalised touch. The facilities are well appointed, luxurious, and spacious. Both rooms décor fit the setting and are designed well (one having a wheelchair accessible bathroom), the kitchens have everything you need and milk, tea and coffee were supplied. The large beds are cozy, warm, and are dressed with quality linen with a decent pillow to rest on. (We both had an amazing sleep). I highly recommend Taimana if you are look for somewhere to relax or to have a nice getaway, this was perfect for what we needed and we will be back soon! Thank you and wish you all the best.
Super relaxing stay, we had our dog with us and this suite was perfect! The room has everything you’d need for a short stay and it was cozy, warm and quiet. Beautiful views of the harbour, this place is a real gem. Rodney & Ann we’re great hosts and very helpful. We look forward to staying here again :)
Absolutely stunning location to stay! The rooms are comfortable and clean, the views are incredible and the service from Ann and Rodney is world class. Best accommodation in Diamond harbour without a doubt.
A perfect little hide out with the loveliest owners Rodney, Ann and their charming dog. The room was very comfortable with a king size bed, wifi, large shower, fully equipped kitchen, clean and very quiet. Sitting outside at the entrance deck with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine with the view over the harbour during the day in nature, was just amazing. Would highly recommend this gem as it is only a 40min ferry away from the Christchurch CBD. Would be perfect for anyone looking to mountain bike, hike or even for a short getaway from the busy city life. Small but one delicious Cafe next door was a cherry on top (Vegetarian friendly). Would definitely come back anytime! One spectacular experience. Thank you Rodney and Ann!
