“Delicious new muesli on breakfast menu. Also makes a tasty, moreish scroggin for scoffing on the go. Was peaceful when myself and 11 month old came in for coffee and food. Team were very accomodating, adapting breakfast with more yogurt so baby could have some too. Amazing coffee.”

“It was a fantastic experience, food was amazing. Had lamb with two types of couscous and Arab rice. My partner had also lamb with other sides, I must say the Greek salad was on top there as well. Updated the menu too, the one from 4years ago might not be relevant anymore...”

“Found this little gem around corner from my motel. Staff were great, friendly and polite. Plenty of space and meals etc brought to your table. Food prepared fresh and coffee was very good too. Plus I got sandwiches to take out ,well filled too. Will be back next trip to Christchurch. Highly Recommended.”
“Had the most amazing 21st Birthday dinner here. We come here all the time for dinner but the service tonight was absolutely amazing! Daragh was the lovely gentleman that took care of us most of the night, he had wonderful service and such a warm presence which made it way more enjoyable! And we had Ayung taking care of us the rest of the night and she was amazing on checking up on us and making sure we were happy all the way up to the end. So thank you so much to the team for everything! We will be back soon!”
“We recently dined at Mumbaiwala in Christchurch and had a fantastic experience. We ordered the Mumbai Chicken, the Lamb Chef's Special of the Day, Kadai Chicken, Chicken Biryani, and fresh naan. Everything was full of flavour, especially the Mumbai Chicken and Kadai Chicken – both had just the right balance of spice and richness. The Lamb Chef’s Special was beautifully cooked and tender. The naan was soft and perfect for soaking up the sauces. The only slight letdown was the Chicken Biryani – it was decent but didn’t quite stand out compared to the other dishes. Service was friendly and prompt, and the ambiance was vibrant and inviting. Definitely a great place for authentic Indian food in the heart of Christchurch. Looking forward to our next visit!”
“Hands down the best food I have had in all of New Zealand. I went to Spice Paragon with zero expectations as most Thai food in Christchurch is quite average. The prices were a bit much for me at first glance, as I often run on tight budget. Most of the time I will argue that expensive food is not worth it past a certain price point, but that argument failed here. The food arrived within 10 min of ordering and was absolutely stunning visually. We ordered the Pad Thai and a beef dish with a red curry sauce (I can't remember the name) that the waitress recommended. The Pad Thai was delicious, but the beef dish stole the show. The meat was tender, full of flavor, and the sauce it was bathed in was delectable. Portion sizes were large. The waitstaff was exceptionally friendly and attentive for New Zealand standards. The evening atmosphere would make this restaurant a great spot for a date, or a nice dinner with friends and family. If you are looking for a nice dinner spot with bold flavors in Christchurch, this is the place!”
“Avonhead takeaways has the best Taiwanese crispy chicken in town. We also tried their Korean fried chicken and octopus balls. Very yummy Asian street food with good value for money.”
“I had high tea. The tea itself was fantastic. The pastries and sandwiches were excellent. The staff was very attentive, maybe even over so in the beginning. And then it was hard to find someone when it was time to pay the bill. My one suggestion is that there's no way to take your tea bag out of the pot. Nothing to take it out with and no place to put it. And I don't always like my tea really strong, depending on what type of tea I get. They would also elevate the experience if they had some type of table cover.”
“Absolute amazing. The food was perfect, one of the best meals my wife and I have had and we eat out a lot. Great service as well! Definitely recommend!”
“Unfortunately, there wasn't time to take photos, but if you have time, stop by and try their dishes. They are great tasting, portion size, and quality/price ratio. If it's Saturday night, you might have to wait 15/20 minutes, but it's worth it! They also have highchairs and baskets with toys (which was very useful for our little one).”
“I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Styx & Stone. From start to finish, everything was impeccable. For my main course, I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana — and it was delightful. Perfectly cooked, tender chicken breast, coated in a crisp, golden crumb, smothered in rich, tangy tomato sauce, and topped with beautifully melted cheese. Every bite was pure comfort and flavor. For dessert, I couldn’t resist the affogato — and it did not disappoint. The balance of smooth, creamy vanilla ice cream and bold, aromatic espresso was heavenly. It’s the kind of simple yet luxurious treat that ends a meal on the perfect note. To accompany it all, I had an iced latte which was perfectly balanced: strong, smooth coffee with just the right touch of milk — refreshing and satisfying. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy yet modern. Highly recommend Styx & Stone for anyone looking for an effortlessly enjoyable dining experience. I’ll definitely be back!”
“Oh my, Lazeez is incredible! The two guys that work at the Marshlands store are so lovely and put so much effort and love into the food they make. The hot salads are dangerously good and the meat on chips are always so crispy. The best part is the flavour of the meats, keeps me coming back at least once a week. Plus how can you not want to go back when they make an effort to learn your order :) Thank you!!”
