“If I could give more than 5 stars I would! A few years ago I was pregnant,tired and incredibly hungry and all the restaurants were actually closing their doors, including vino. My poor husband ran up just as you were closing the doors and asked if you had anything spare he could buy for me quickly. Without hesitation you actually turned your ovens back on,chatted to my husband about life,and made me a double portion of pasta FREE of charge and said it was a gift for us and our first baby. I genuinely cried at how generous you were to a total stranger. Don’t know if you remember this at all,but it’s always stuck with us! Highly recommend to anyone and everyone.”

“Recently visited Ebisu with a group of friends to experience their Oki No Saturday Buffet. The selection was truly generous- fresh sashimi, sushi rolls, shrimp, udon and miso soup as well as hot dishes like salmon, braised beef brisket. And many delicious desserts. I have to say the sashimi was beautifully arranged and fresh. The service was friendly and attentive throughout. Our group wholeheartedly enjoyed the Oki No Saturday Buffet. I will recommend it without hesitation to anyone if you are looking for a relaxed Japanese buffet in Auckland.”

“We had amazing dinner here we did the à la carte menu. The sashimi was fantastic possibly one of the best in Auckland. If not New Zealand. The steak was amazing. “Holy!!!! A coast hidden gem!! Went for dinner, started with the cheese and garlic bread, must be home made dough because I could not get enough of it, then had the tarragon chicken, I’ve been dreaming about it ever since, absolutely mouth watering. staff were absolutely amazing, the smiles they give, you cannot help to smile. Decided to come back to try their breakfast today and what can’t they do, coffee 10/10 and I had the smashed avocado, would go back every morning if I could. If I could give it 10 stars I would!!!!”

“The Hunting Lodge is such a beautiful wedding venue. As a wedding photographer, I always love shooting here. The grounds are stunning year-round, and the sunsets over the vineyards are next level. There are several ceremony options, including right at the edge of the vines or beside the iconic Barn. I also love the vintage caravan bar, it adds such a fun, relaxed energy and looks amazing in photos! With their in-house wine, relaxed vibe, and versatile indoor-outdoor flow, The Hunting Lodge is one of the best winery venues in Auckland :)”

“We had a birthday dinner for my mum and the food and drinks were amazing. I had the passionfruit mocktail which was out of this world! Tried a variety of dishes and enjoyed all of them. The pork was succulent, the octopus was soft and delicious. Fish burger and truffle fries with Parmesan to die for. This is a beautiful restaurant atmosphere with excellent food and drink options and would highly recommend”

“Sal’s Pizza in Mt Eden delivers a truly authentic New York-style pizza experience. From the moment you step in, you're greeted by the comforting aroma of freshly baked dough, sizzling pepperoni, and melted mozzarella. It’s the kind of smell that makes your stomach rumble and your expectations rise — and thankfully, Sal’s lives up to the hype. I ordered two classic slices: pepperoni and cheese. Both were exceptional. The pepperoni slice was perfectly crisp on the edges, with generous layers of spicy pepperoni that curled up slightly as they cooked, just like a real New York slice should. The cheese slice had a rich, gooey stretch and the tomato sauce underneath balanced it out with a slightly tangy bite. The crust was spot on — thin and foldable in the center with a nice chew, but still strong enough to hold the toppings without going soggy. The base had that beautiful light char underneath, giving it that authentic pizza oven flavor. What really blew me away though was the pepperoni wheel. It’s not just a gimmick — it’s a masterpiece. The dough is rolled around layers of pepperoni and cheese, then baked to golden perfection. Every bite gives you the perfect combination of soft, cheesy interior and a slightly crunchy outer layer. It's compact, flavorful, and ideal if you're after something handheld and satisfying.”

We first discovered Joe’s Garage in Queenstown and instantly fell in love — the food, the layout, the vibe… everything was perfect. But the real star for us was the pancakes, which our daughter adored. For a whole year she talked about them and couldn’t wait to go back as we were from Auckland. So when we found out there was a Joe’s Garage in Silverdale, we were thrilled — even though we live all the way in Henderson, we were more than happy to make the trip. We finally arrived, excited and ready… only to learn that the famous pancakes are only served before 5pm, and we had arrived at 6:30pm. Our daughter was devastated, and honestly, so were we. But this is where the magic happened. Our wonderful server Tyra (who was also managing that evening) could see how much it meant to our daughter. We politely asked if there was any chance the chef might be able to make an exception. Instead of giving us a flat no, Tyra said, “Let me see what I can do.” She went to speak with the kitchen team, and came back with the most heartwarming news — their chef Hunter was willing to make a fresh batch of pancakes from scratch, just for our daughter. We were genuinely moved. This wasn’t standard service — this was above and beyond. Tyra’s kindness, and Hunter’s willingness to go out of his way, created a moment our family will never forget. Because of this experience, Joe’s Garage will forever have a special place in our hearts. Wherever we see a Joe’s Garage in the world, we’ll be loyal supporters — and our daughter will too. “Pizza always cooked to perfection and always consistent. Service is very straight to the point, however, I have noticed new staff working here who are much nicer to deal with than when the store first opened. This is always our go to branch kn the Hibiscus coast and I would highly recommend it.”

“The beef and cheese burger is simple yet absolutely class, the chicken nibbles seem pricey but they’re pretty huge. Overall such good food. Only complaint would be the fries to sauce ratio - the aioli is actually amazing but just slightly not enough. Customer service is excellent - friendly people”
