“The best little spot. Our favourite spot for the freshest fish, best selection and best value for money on sashimi. We always get a deluxe set each - and it’s consistently great each time. Kind workers and free miso soup too. Not a single complaint.”

“I used to visit here for my lunch. Now I don't have much time for my lunch so I ordered from ubereat. Food was always tasty with good portion. Ubereat delivered the food to my house was super fast, within 30 minutes after I placed the order. Food was still hot when I received. I ordered grilled pork with yellow rice, which was so amazing. Pork was well marinated. Highly recommend”

“I only order salmon and avocado sushi. Came here for the first time 2 days ago and the workers were very friendly and accommodated my request for a newly made pack of sushi without the wasabi and ginger in it (allergies). They did not hesitate to make a new pack and they smiled and were attentive to me and other customers the whole time. The sushi itself contained a lot of salmon compared to St Pierre's. I will definitely be back.”

“Learned about this hidden gem from family and friends, and dropped by for lunch after picking up groceries. The chicken and squid karaage had the perfect balance of crunch and tenderness, while the egg and potato salad was a particularly inspired compliment. Loved the calm, cosy vibes of the premises, too - mix of indoor, shaded and outdoor seating available.”

“Definitely the best (and most beautiful) sushi I ever had. If you have a few minutes you should eat in the seating are which is located upstairs in a business lounge with a glass front facing the harbour. The prices start at 1,50$ for the basic ones and they also have other options than sushi (e.g. Edamame, seaweed salad etc.) Totally recommendable!”

“I organised an end of year dinner for our class at Mr Tanakas tonight (13 of us). The entire process for organising the dinner was seamless and the team were so accommodating even when things changed a few times. The vibe of the restaurant was really cool, the service was awesome, the food was scrumptious and we were all full from our the $65 p/p set menu + a couple of other yummy dishes. The cocktails and wines were great and we had the pleasure of dining in the Lantern room which was such a fun vibe and included karaoke. Unfortunately we didn’t capture photos of the food. Anyhow - I’d like to thank the staff for their wonderful service tonight!! ❤️”

“Chatpata paneer is bloody good. Soft spoken staff :) extremely glad there is a Indian flavour making pizza spot that’s actually very good. 1st Jun visit: Had tandoori paneer, had to bin it immediately after first bite. Absolutely didn’t feel d flavour. Extreme disappointment. 9th Aug visit : Opted for chatpata paneer again , ain’t trying any other for a while. It was so good. This was a free pizza considering my last unhappy visit few months ago. I got served a large pizza when I wanted only a small one. There is no way a large could be consumed fully by one person especially this one with the heavyness in it. I insisted I pay but Sameer’s brother( didn’t get his name, my bad) was more adamant in not letting me to. All he wanted was if I was happy with the pizza this time 22/01/25 : Had thin crust chatpata paneer :) loved it OMG.”

“Enjoyed a breakfast here on a Monday morning in an outdoor seating overlooking Oneroa township. Monday is a relatively quiet day on Waiheke without the weekend xrowds. The menu for breakfast and brunch was reasonably comprehensive and well priced. The restaurant was busy and frequented by locals which was a good sign”

“Stopped in for lunch while getting a car serviced. The guy working stated they'd just opened so the wait time was longer but I wasn't in a rush, so not an issue for me. Service was friendly, food was served fresh and hot. Good lunch spot!”

“The customer service here is absolutely outstanding! The staff are so genuinely lovely, they’ll even hold the door open for you, or bring the order to your car (when I've had kids in the car). The buffalo chicken wings are hands down my favourite, always a hit! Most people don't know about the chicken wings, so please do yourself a favour and add them to your next order!! Every visit has been nothing short of perfect. Honestly, I don’t have a single complaint. Highly recommend!”

“The guy behind the counter Aidan (hopefully thats spelt right lol) Guy was a hero, went in on Fathers day as per tradition and he let us know there would be a slight wait due to Oven issues, no stress at all! It looked like he was working a solo shift which is bananas for a sunny Fathers Day! Dude never crumbled under the pressure and knew how to prioritise orders, my family and I placed a pretty sizeable order so we were expecting a long wait time since it was just him doing it all, he managed to get the small orders out fast so customers didn’t get upset, he slipped us an extra few garlic knots as an apology for the wait (hopefully I dont get him in trouble for that) Just solid, cool calm and collected service! - matt”

“Consistently great pizza from Sals Birkenhead. The manager Raj is always friendly and nice to talk to, and he makes a pretty great pizza. Sals menu is simpler than other pizza places, but higher quality and tastier - plus a large pizza is actually large from Sals. Definitely recommend Sals for a slice of New York style pizza, especially if you can get a deal or bundle.”

“Absolutely delicious food and decent service. The food couldn’t have been better absolutely chefs kiss as always! Service was good though was a bit disappointed that when the waitress poured our water she spilt quite a bit over the table and said she’d be back to clean it up but never did so we ended up using a serviette. Atmosphere was nice. Overall a really good experience. Definitely recommend if you want good food! Just bear in mind that it is pricey”
