The degustation was amazing. It included both Japanese and Western dishes. Every dish was well explained and presented with creativity. Sashimi was fresh, had a delicate taste without the typical frozen aftertaste. We enjoyed all from start to finish. Very keen to visit again for other dishes on the menu.

Easily the best Japanese restaurant experience we have had in New Zealand. After living in Japan for four years we are particular and Cocoro was excellent in all respects. The food was excellent, ambience very good but what really stood out was the service. The team embraced the concept of Omotenashi so well. Looking forward to returning soon! Highly recommend.

Signature degustation set was just perfect. The freshness, quality and flavour - a culinary delight. One of the best restaurants in Auckland, way ahead of its peers.

We had the special truffle course, and it was exceptional. I love truffles and have tried several truffle courses at various restaurants, but this was one of the best β€” they really brought out the flavour of the truffle beautifully. My partner has some dietary restrictions, and the team created a beautifully tailored course menu for us. The food was consistently sophisticated in flavour, with elegant presentation. Every staff member was friendly, and the service was refined and professional. Cocoro continues to be one of my absolute favourite restaurants in New Zealand.

We had amazing dinner here we did the Γ  la carte menu. The sashimi was fantastic possibly one of the best in Auckland. If not New Zealand. The steak was amazing. The staff were really friendly and helpful and all around great restaurant. I haven’t been for awhile. It’s nice to see they haven’t dropped their standards.

An amazing dinner at Cocoro. We felt the food was very fresh and the flavours were carefully executed. Some reviews I have read have mentioned that the service could be improved. We experienced very good timely service. I wonder if some of the feedback on bad service could be down to cultural mannerisms. For 4 people we ordered from the a la carte menu: 1. Traditional sashimi of market seafood, 5 varieties; 2. Salmon, kingfish, snapper in new style sashimi, with a beautiful citrus sesame sauce (ponzu) 3. Karaage chicken 4. Seafood Tempura 5. Chumaki rolled sushi - prawn tempura roll 6. Inaniwa handmade udon noodles with cloudy bay clams, shitaki mushrooms which was introduced to us as a Japanese take on pasta. An added bonus was that the clams were huge. 7. Tobanyaki angus beef eye fillet on a sizzling plate. All dishes performed but standouts were the eye fillet, new style sashimi and the tempura sushi roll was a real underdog with that crispy rice made with akazu red vinegar. The portion sizes are not huge but the dishes are carefully executed and to have all dishes perform deliciously meant that we felt happy to pay the premium price. We appreciated the calm ambiance of the restaurant and I personally appreciated the dampened acoustics as sometimes you can find that restaurants can be acoustically poor.

Went here for lunch. We ordered signature sashimi plate and wow, it was amazing selection of fishes, prawns, shells. Their dishes are very delicious. Very professional service gave us detailed description of every dish.

Sashimi is very fresh. Of course, it is necessary to keep the price fresh. All three people didn't have enough to eat at 200 yuan, and their service attitude was very poor.High-grade ingredients, good taste and extremely rubbish service.

Probably one of the best if not the best Japanese in Auckland. One of our go to favourite restaurants. All of the dishes are fresh and beautifully presented. Decent selection of beer and spirits. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Tip : do try their sakes!
