“Celebrating our lovely daughter’s 6th birthday—and her very first birthday party—at this restaurant was the best decision we could have made! From the beginning, Rachel, the owner, was incredibly helpful, patiently answering all our questions and guiding us through the party planning process. The staff was beyond kind, making sure everything ran smoothly. The delicious buffet for adults, the fantastic kids’ menu, and the amazing outdoor playground made this place truly special. Everything was just perfect for us! A huge thank you to the staff for warmly accommodating 20 excited kids! “We came here for dinner on our first night in Auckland and it delivered! Niro and her team were gracious to seat us close to closing and quickly took our orders and served us. We are so grateful we had the opportunity to eat here as part of our honeymoon. The drinks were crisp and the food was incredible. I ordered the pepper steak and my husband ordered the spaghetti bolognese per the staff’s recommendation, and neither of us could stop eating and cleaned our plates. Not to mention the privacy the booth seating provided and the joyous Christmas decor! Highly recommend stopping in if you have the chance.”

“Ok...I have to admit, it was not my intention to come here. I was really looking for The Grove and since they were closed this was right next door and up stairs. What an adorable place with a variety of fresh foods, filtered water, charming ambiance and a full bar of coffee, alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. No AC but the seating area is charming overlooking the near by park and church. And did I mention free wifi.”

All staff I dealt with were incredibly helpful and accommodating as we had a few unknowns leading up to the day, and everything went smoothly at their end. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Wonderful way for us to end the year. Definitely recommend if you're looking to have a function.”

“Look at that inviting courtyard. What a great place for a meeting, a break or stop for office time in one of their booths. Plenty of space in the back with outdoors covered seating area too. Great coffee and eggs Benedict. Cafe at front and large bar inside. You need to look in deeper than just from the street entrance.”

“Reservation made for a birthday lunch on a Saturday around 30 people. Staff very helpful especially Jordan who could not do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble. Used their screen for photos (which my family had organised with the staff behind my back).Food excellent, everyone enjoyed the day. Would recommend the Village Bar and Grill for a birthday or family gathering”

Really appreciated not being faced with the same old, same old that so many cafes offer these days where you can tell, being a retired cafe owner, where the product has come from. Great selection of fresh and well presented cabinet food and nice brunch and lunch menu selection as well so you pick quick offerings on the go or to linger over a beautifully made coffee ☕️”

“My friend had popped over from Melbourne and was staying at the Park Hyatt so we decided to come here. A very good choice we made. The service was very quick and the drinks and food was top notch. We had The Hail Mary (Philly cheese steak) and The fried chicken burger with a couple of drinks. The fries that came with the food was crispy but soft inside and Steak Sandwich was superb. It was a bit loud but the music was great. All in all we had a good evening out.”

“From the moment you walk in Reign and Pour brings a solid upbeat and relaxed vibe. The staff are friendly and incredibly attentive. The food.... Oh my goodness, so good. I had the stuffed chicken which was so well balanced in terms of flavour profile. My partner had the steak and said "this is the best steak I've had in quite some time." To share we also grabbed the cauliflower bites which were perfectly salted and crispy. We'll be back for sure!”

“The Paw Bar and Eatery is a fantastic place to come with family/friends/a date or even on your own! The twinkling lights with all the beautiful plants make you feel like you are in a tropical resort. The staff are an absolute gem- super friendly and quick! There is a lot of space to sit outdoor or indoors. They have great events such as trivia and live music. I hosted a staff party there and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks. The doggy menu is also obviously a huge plus and they always have many board games. Sizzling skewers are now a new highlight, which you cannot find anywhere else in the hood! I highly recommend swinging by. Cheers!”

“Kareoki nights are the bomb. Tammy the Kareoki DJ on Tuesday night and Dave Hoeta on Thursday and Saturday nights from 9pm. A must visit if you're a singer or waiata artist.....chuuur!!! Fun place to visit.”

“we tried this place first time approx 1 month ago. Ever since the first visit, this place became our weekly routine. It's that good. Both dinner and brunch menu is excellent, super friendly service and very kids friendly (my daughter love their kids combo). I'm sure we will continue visit here more. Perhaps the only complaint is we wish there's more mocktail selection for the non-alcoholic drinkers :)”

“Heard so much about the Steak & Guinness Pie that we had to try it out. Hubby had the large one, me the small. Both did not disappoint and both were ample servings. Flakey puff pastry sealed over the top of a bowl of steaming hot steak filling, served with crispy beer battered chips and a green salad. Tasty and very well-priced. Great pub, awesome staff.”

“We booked a table via First Table, so was able to get a good deal for a table of 4. We ordered the Pan-Roasted Lamb Rump and Butcher's Cut Steak. The food came out quickly and it was very tasty. Basalt is nicely layed out, with one corner for dining, another area where you can watch live sport and have drinks. As well as an upstairs area with music”

“Consistently great pizza from Sals Birkenhead. The manager Raj is always friendly and nice to talk to, and he makes a pretty great pizza. Sals menu is simpler than other pizza places, but higher quality and tastier - plus a large pizza is actually large from Sals. Definitely recommend Sals for a slice of New York style pizza, especially if you can get a deal or bundle.”
