“I happened to discover this beautiful coffee shop when I visited VTNZ New Lynn to get a WOF for my car. The coffee, soy latte takeaway, was superb. Love to go back to taste food, perhaps a bagel. It sounds very delicious on menu. Really loved their setting & atmosphere.”
“My wife and I celebrated our 25th (Silver) Wedding Anniversary with a meal here. The food, service, and atmosphere were great. The view out over the Waitākere Ranges was beautiful, despite the overcast evening. It was unfortunate that we were unable to have our preferred and reserved outdoor seating, due to the verandah being inaccessible for wheelchairs.”
“We decided to have a look at the selection of winter plants at the Plant barn Henderson, very impressed with knowledgeable staff, and their friendliness. WOW, Fantastic quality plants and gardening accessories at reasonable prices! Cafeteria was busy but food and drinks were wonderful! I would recommended Kings plant barn to all my gardener friends without hesitation! Arthur C. CHARLTON West AUCKLAND NZ”
“First time here! Service is excellent even got the baby chair for us. Big cafe and a good variety of bakes. Very clean place, the cinnamon brochie is very nice. Strong coffee. Staff are really friendly. Will be back”
“Superb cafe tucked away by the airport. We were a little late and close to closing but the staff were so friendly. Very good coffee! The menu has a wide variety of choices and everything we had was perfect, great place for functions!”
“Great service, food was good but would have liked to see more vegetarian options. Overall good and would definitely go there again.”
“I had the salmon teriyaki salad( no soba noodles) which was very good and one of their homemade croissants which was excellent. No jam in the kitchen which I think they ought to remedy when the croissant are so good. All the meals were enjoyed my coffee was excellent made with Supreme coffee. Staff nice and helpful. Cost $$”
“We ordered off their pizza menu that they do on Friday nights. Awesome staff and beautiful food. Highly recommend!!”
“This place is no longer Williams Eatery - it’s now Bowler! They offer a fantastic selection of bowls, letting you choose from chicken, beef, or salmon, with bases of either brown rice, salad, or a mix of both. There are plenty of healthy options to enjoy here. I visited Bowler with my colleagues to check out the new spot, and it didn’t disappoint. The experience was wonderful! The staff were friendly and personally called out our names from the counter when our bowls were ready. It got quite busy during lunchtime, but at $17.90 per bowl, the price felt reasonable and well worth it. So far, I’ve tried the Free-Range Chicken Bowl (No. 1) and the Mt. Cook Salmon Bowl (No. 4). Both were absolutely delicious! The brown rice base is perfect if you’re looking for a more filling meal. The bowls focus on highlighting the natural flavours of the ingredients, with no heavy sauces - just fresh, wholesome goodness. I enjoyed Williams, and now I am loving Bowler too. I’ll definitely be coming here more often for lunch. Highly recommended!”
“Definitely the best place to have brunch. Lovely staff, excellent food, and high quality. I recommend it and will be back!”
“Great coffee and food, friendly service, nice wide range of teas to try out, would highly recommend.”
“Best place in Milford. Two plates of breakfast perfection. The burger was juicy, towering masterpiece with crispy onion rings, while the avocado toast with scrambled eggs was fresh and delicious. Great coffee too.”
“Had a mean azz feed here for Brunch, Good classic French Pastries. And of course gotta get the locally loved "Chips". Desserts are to die for, friendly service. Love the decoration of the place”
“Aren't dissapointed about The Gateau House! The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and filled with the delicious aroma of freshly baked goods. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about their craft.”
“Such a gem! One of the best meals we had in NZ. The ceviche will change your life. We were basically licking the plate. Cocktails were fantastic. Doesn’t feel as touristy as other spots on the island which is nice as well. We were only stopping in for a snack and it was so good we ended up doing full blown dinner here. View of the ocean down the road from outdoor seating. Thank you to the chefs and wait staff for a wonderful meal and time!!!”
“Amazing restaurant, totally recommend! I came to this restaurant earlier this year and oh my was it amazing! First of all the atmosphere is very clean and well cared for, and the staff were very polite and good at their job. The food tasted amazing, especially the syrup chicken! The pasta also tasted great. The only complaint I have is that the wait was too long for the food! Overall please give this restaurant a try, it's worth it!”
“just tried the new special, Egg Benedict on Cheese Scone!!! The flavour was so good and the price was fair. The music was so relaxing as well and made me stay here for way longer than i expected. Workers were also really funny and nice to talk to! Definitely recommend”
“This is probably one of my go-to Italian spots in NewMarket. The staff are incredibly friendly and super helpful at recommending dishes to try. The food is always super fresh and flavoursome, and the great atmosphere really adds to the overall experience. The price point is average for the city, but with the quality of the ingredients I would definately say it's good value for money.”
“Absolutely delicious dinner and a dedicated gluten free menu!! 10/10 must visit. (A little bit more whipped feta dip with the polenta chips would be A1!)”
“The easiest 5 stars I have ever given. Our jaws dropped upon seeing and tasting both our mains (lamb rump and pork belly) and desserts (apple crumble and brownie sundae). The food and service far exceeded our expectations. Empire Tavern is part of the Star Group, and you can get great deals like the Monday 2for1 mains we used simply by downloading their app. However, my friend and I would happily pay full price for these mains in future, and we decided to order dessert based on their quality and were so glad we did. I can't think of a single thing that could be improved. Thank you to the waitstaff and kitchen team who made our night one to remember and hopefully repeat again soon! Everyone should try this surprising gem in the CBD, which had a lovely positive and peaceful vibe on a Monday evening and no doubt has something great to offer any night of the week.”
“What a wonderful cafe. Coffee and food, both amazing. So friendly and accommodating. Thank you! Atmosphere is a great start to our day. Will definitely come again.”
“Exceptional quality and value for money. Staff were friendly and good was prepared fresh. I deconstructed the chicken burger, it was amazing.”
“We had such a great brunch here last weekend. The coffee was excellent—rich, smooth, and easily one of the best I’ve had in the city. Their oat-milk hot chocolate was amazing too, and the Super Avocado was definitely a standout. I also loved the café’s aesthetic, especially the fresh flowers on the tables. The staff were warm and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.”
“The best dog-friendly cafe in Mt Eden. Great coffee, outside on the historic verandah if dining in, or delivered to the carpark by the friendly service team, along with mobile eftpos so you don't have to tie up your dog to go inside. There are free little dog biscuits on the verandah too. The staff could not be friendlier. Thank you to the Altar team.”
“Queenies has a lovely cozy energy, staff were kind and welcoming, and the prawn spaghetti had the perfect kick for a cold winter’s afternoon. My friends and I are already planning our next brunch date there, thank you!”
“It was so nice I had to go back TWICE. Could not recommend more - I’ll be back for more of their blends and that life changing HASHBROWN.”
“Breakfast was delicious! And we love the outdoor Cafe dining experience. I had the SEB bagel breakfast and my companion had the brioche French toast.”
“Had lunch here over the weekend with our two little boys, the staff are so friendly, went out of their way to help us move when it started raining and super friendly to us and our boys. The food is amazing too! The Korean chicken was our fave. Highly recommend this place has the perks of being in the city without the hustle and bustle of pedestrians walking past.”
“Amazing customer service for our small group today & the food was fresh, plenty of & super delicious. We were so pleased to find a lovely airy cafe in this heat, where we could talk and have plenty of space to enjoy it all. We will be back.”
“High streets best kept secret! Visit on a sunny day for a beautiful outdoor escape or a rainy one for a cozy coffee (the heaters / cover work wonders). Coffee and service is always 10/10, and the Bacon Benedict is always hits the spot. Love that they also support local businesses as well. Definitely visit if you’re looking for a cheap and cheerful brunch spot in the CBD.”
