   We recently visited The Gateau House on Harris Road and purchased a Black Forest birthday cake. The lady at the counter was incredibly kind and offered to write a Chinese birthday wish on the cake, even though she hadn’t learned Chinese before. It was a thoughtful touch that made the cake extra special! The service was excellent, and the cake itself was delicious. The Gateau House is definitely a great place for custom cakes and friendly service.

   I absolutely love The Gateau House! I had some of their cakes and macarons, and everything was amazing — rich, flavorful, and not too sweet. I even brought a box of macarons all the way to the Philippines as a welcome gift for my family, and they loved them too! The quality is consistently top-notch, and the presentation is beautiful. Definitely one of my favorite spots for sweet treats. Highly recommended!

   We have been loyal customers of Gateau House on Harris Road for many years, but over the past year, the quality of their cakes has completely changed and not for the better. The cakes are falling apart when we cut them, the icing melts even after being stored in the fridge, and worst of all, the base is as hard as a rock. This is beyond disappointing! We used to love their cakes, but now it feels like a waste of money. What happened to the quality we once trusted

   Few cakes from them in the past and first and last time I will get the Kumara cake. Where's the Kumara? I have diligently sectioned every layer and there's little bit of filling, not proportional for the amount of sponge and doesn't taste Kumara at all ! Lady who served me was nice, however I went back to ask for pick up date and she was in the back. At that time one Asian lady and one Asian man were behind the counter (possibly owner or managers), however I was there for more than 5 minutes I tried hard to get attention and make eye contact and they saw me they looked at me and they ignored me completely! I was shocked and couldn't believe their behaviour. Absolutely inappropriate and even if they were owners they literally have no customer service and shouldn't have a business which if in retail you should attend customers no matter who you are. I felt sorry for the staff. Another guy from the staff was outside the counter and checking on tables, he saw me clearly that I was looking to talk to someone and he ignored me completely! What a dark place with a dark atmosphere! I will never ever again spend a dime on their Business. Beside they are very expensive, they used to make good tasty cakes, not anymore with barely little filling and just sponge. The rest of the family was surprised and said: is this Kumara cake I can't taste anything at all just a little bit of cream.

   We ordered the Marble Chiffon cake but requested they decorated the top in the style of the Chocolate Chiffon. We also requested the hole which is in the top of the cakes to be filled in. They did exactly what we requested. We were thrilled with the quality and taste of the cake. Happy to recommend The Gateau House!

   Totally disaster experience. Order cancelled without refund but gateau house points. Then use the points online but unsuccessful!! Went to store to but was told online order questions should contact distribution center...... Waste hips of time and patience on a simple online order. Don't do any online order from their site or just choose another bakery shop...

   02/04/2023 The two lady's who were working this shift were both so helpful and insightful on which cake to choose. Was having a hard time to choose between two choices and the asian server was very prompt and honest on answering my questions. I have bought 2 cakes from here now. Mango fresh cream - nice and light, gives trifle vibes the taste of the sponge. Not to sweet and the Mango comes through just perfectly. Strawberry mousse cake - I bought this during the summer while it was strawberry season and this too was another light, not to sweet tasting cake. Beautiful texture and melts in your mouth just like the cake above. There's a good number of tables here. Kid friendly as they have coloring pencils and sheets which is cute to keep your kids happy and distracted if you decide to sit down and eat here. Clean and tidy, highly recommend this branch.

   Ordered a chocolate mousse cake for mum’s birthday, best chocolate mousse! It has a layer of sponge in it, which is a good balance. Most importantly the cake is not too sweet! As we don’t like heavy, sugary desserts The coffee walnut slab was pretty good too, nice coffee flavour, has addition of nuts and fruits in it, if you are not a big sweet tooth then I’ll recommend the cakes here
