“Tasty Homely food Located right in the centre of the Auckland city CBD, just behind saravanaa bhawan , good option for vegetarian indian travellers. Food tastes yummy, just like indian street food, i felt like i am eating at my home.. kids loved the food too. Quite popular with locals. There is no dining place though, so you have to Take Away only. Qty is good and 1 dish is sufficient for 2 people ! Reasonably priced too !!”

“Just yumm! Their special butter chicken with garlic nan is a must try. One portion rice is complimentary. The lady that manage the restaurant is a rockstar! I visited on last night of my Auckland trip and cursed myself for not discovering this before. Quantity and taste was better than most restaurants here in India. Kudos!”

“Authentic Kerala Cuisine! We have been missing that in Auckland and had an amazing experience. The ambience, service and food presentation is amazing. The flavours are aromatic and traditional. Friendly staff and we just felt like eating out in Kerala. Kids are surprised and excited by the Robot. Wanted to try a lot more but the portion size is really filling. Will surely be back to try the rest!”

“Indian is my junk food. Raviz has been my go-to for picking up takeaways for most of the last 18 years, and they've always been the best value and very tasty. Their samosas are great. The gravy is a good thickness for dipping naan into. I was glad when they expanded their menu a few years ago. I thought the Tikka Banaras needed more banana flavour, but otherwise every dish I've tried has been very good. I've tried plenty of higher quality Indian restaurants, but the food doesn't often taste as good.”

“Amazing food - we loved everything we got here. Spent about $50 and it would have fed four people. Loved the biriyani, all the curries were great - I especially liked the lamb, and there was a vegetable korma style curry. Definitely would recommend this place for food.”

It was creamy, rich, and well portioned. The flavours were how I remembered it. in times of inflation, companies and restaurants tend to reformulate their ingredients to cut cost, but Shamiana Albany has been consistent -reminded why I still love their food all these many years.”

“Lovely and cozy new space at Sylvia park, 2nd floor. The staff was friendly and all smiles. Very accommodating, price is reasonable too. I ordered garlic naan which was freshly made, still hot and perfectly seasoned --i hope size will be a lot bigger though. Haha. I love the interiors of this small indian resto, would definitely recommend and be back to try their other indian food, coz it looks yum!! Go on, give them a try! “Good quality 100% vegetarian food. Plenty of parking available as well. Lots of space inside the restaurant ideal for birthdays, engagement etc. The portion food served is sufficient compared to what other people are saying in their reviews. Toilet / rest room was clean too. Will visit again. Highly recommended.”

I ordered the Tamil Nadu–style chicken curry with butter naan, and it was absolutely delicious — full of authentic flavor and perfectly cooked. But what truly made my visit special was the kindness and humility of the manager. When I was about to leave, it started raining heavily. Seeing that, he kindly offered to drop me wherever I needed to go. Even when I said I would wait outside, he came again and genuinely insisted on giving me a ride in his car. It’s rare to find such good food paired with such a good-hearted person. The manager’s care and hospitality made me feel truly valued as a guest. I highly recommend Spice Avenue to anyone looking not just for a great meal, but also a warm and memorable experience.”
