“This is one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to in the North Shore and probably Auckland. The foods flavour was really good. My friends got a variety of dishes; and all tasted perfect. The meals were very reasonable priced, the portion sizes were large. During the meal, the kind lady (owner I’m guessing) asked us multiple times if we needed more rice or extras. There was a few other people coming in and out, as they were picking up their takeaway meals, which proves it’s popular with the locals. I have seen some of the other reviews and this place is deserving of them all. I definitely would eat here again!”

“Double Happy gives you great value for money. The food is delicious, and always cooked fresh. The place is simple but very clean. If you’re dining in, cutlery, condiments and free tea are self-service. My favourite dish from here is the Stir Fried Pork Belly with Cabbage (extra spicy), highly recommend.”

“We went to this restaurant last Wednesday night with my boyfriend. The owners were very welcoming and smiling. We ordered pizzas and the tiramisu, and everything was delicious. The atmosphere was really nice with Italian music and decoration! I highly recommend it!”

“OMG! How did we not find out about this place sooner?!!! It's so close to home and plenty of free parking available nearby. This is a local hidden gem and such a great restaurant for genuine Italian food. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated and was absolutely spotless! Staff were very welcoming, and they went out of their way to ensure that we enjoyed our dining experience. We have never had better garlic pizza bread, as it just melted in your mouth. We both had a prawn cocktail for our entree, which was so packed full of prawns and scrumptious. I was beginning to get a bit full after all this, but I got halfway through an entree size calamari that was also tender and delicious. This is now going to be our new favourite place and if I don't overdo the garlic bread again, perhaps I will even get to try the desserts, too!!!”

“I have been here a few times but never posted a review before. Lovely food. Very tasty and flavourful. Spring rolls, curry puffs, prawn Penang curry, spicy fried rice, pad Thai and steamed rice. Portion size was meh but this is not your regular Chinese takeaway so don’t expect the same. Overall great food and good service”

It’s arguably the only Chinese restaurant in Auckland where you’ll find more non-Chinese customers than Chinese, which speaks volumes about its broad appeal and the quality of its food. Each dish we tried was a testament to the culinary skills of the kitchen staff. The prices are reasonable, offering great value for the quality and portion sizes. “Surprisingly authentic Chinese restaurant in the middle of Auckland CBD. The food is well prepared. It is apparent that they actually take the time to marinate the food for an adequate amount of time using the right seasoning before cooking, which yields an authentic and intense flavor. This is not the typical Chinese restaurant which just dump salty sauce on bland meat. This place is legit! Service was quick and friendly, makes one feel like going home for dinner. All good. I went there twice in three days and consistently failed to take pictures of the food before eating because it was just too yummy.”
